Genuinely a great school.
Teachers and staff are very nice and non-intimidating! It’s a quite small and niche school community, and hopefully, more students can come! To the Glenferrie staff, thank you for always being so kind to the students!
We recently migrated from India and enrolled our child at Glenferrie Primary School. I cannot express enough how incredibly pleased I am. From the moment we enrolled our child, the staff has been welcoming, supportive, and dedicated to providing an exceptional education. One of the things that sets this school apart is its focus on individualized attention. This personalized attention has made a significant difference in my child’s overall learning ability. Moreover, the school encourages a strong sense of community. There are regular events and activities that involve parents, creating a supportive network that further enhances the overall learning experience. My Special Thanks to the class teacher Ms. Diyana Ismail for being such an incredible teacher and the school principal Ms. Tanya Gurney who is always there to support kids and always seeking parents’ suggestions to make this school better. I am truly grateful for the positive impact this school has had on my child’s life. I wholeheartedly recommend this primary school to any parent looking for an outstanding educational institution.
Our 7 year old daughter attends Glenferrie Primary School, and we are very happy. It is an International Baccalaureate school, which in addition to many other benefits, also attracts top-talent teachers. There is a lot of focus on social aspects, which is especially important for children born abroad (like our daughter). The teachers also use lots of humour, technology and innovative teaching techniques, which is helpful. The school has a diverse student population, and parents are happy to get involved and contribute. Parents also often hang around school when picking up kids, which strengthens the community. As it is a very small school (the smallest we found around Hawthorn), service is personal, and it won’t be a cliche to say that all staff members know our names. We also think that the school performed exceptionally well under the lockdowns last year, with teachers taking their responsibility very seriously. Lastly, the principal Mrs. O’Sullivan is straight to the point, which we really appreciated when attending the school tour. She promptly approaches the parents community with issues important to the school, and we always feel that we are “in the loop”.
… And don’t forget to watch the great videos that the school produces from time to time. Those are like time capsules 🙂 The latest is posted on the school homepage.
This school has minimal bullying, lots of great facilities (although the water fountain was a bad idea) and most of the teachers were really nice. The Assist. Principal was awesome but the current principal is disliked by nearly everyone there. I feel as if the staff should pay more attention to the students wishes, as they aren’t trying to get rid of uniform or ban maths class or anything. Most of the teachers genuinely care about their students and it promotes an overall happy learning environment. Most of the IB programme is a waste of time and money, including ‘key concepts’, ‘key ideas’ which just tell you to demonstrate traits you should be displaying anyway.
My daughter is at this school. After we arrive to Australia she had bad experience at child care, but when she went to school she absolutely love it. I’ve never heard about any bulling, never complain about teacher. Also I would like to mention before and After School Care OshClub which is amazing. And lastly for 3 years now my daughter never complain that he dont want to go to school except those days when she didn’t wanted to wake up 🙂
