Our kids feel safe and loved at this school. They have a focus on great academic outcomes and teachers are very professional, hardworking and dependable. My wife and I both love the school’s great community of teachers, parents and school admin. There is also a very strong focus on Christian teaching and worldview that is really setting our children up with a strong faith and great knowledge of the Bible.
Both our children go to this great school. It has a loving Christ centred environment and is very strong academically. Our children also take up lessons in one of the instruments that are taught and also the Chess tutoring.

The school has up to date tech and teachers make use of many of the modern platforms.

We love this school and thank God we are able to send our kids to it.

If you’re considering schooling options for your kids, you’d do well to consider GCS. Obviously no school is perfect, but what I see with this school is that there has been incredible thought put into the fundamentals. There are the obvious great campus features like a natural dam, an outdoor learning space, modern and well-designed rooms, lots of play areas etc. and all of these are genuinely great but the thing that makes these things fantastic is the interplay of thoughtful physical design elements, clever management and insightful and compassionate staff. It comes out in physical structures, like the pick up zone that’s rarely crowded and the way it’s managed (get this: the staff recognise me with a friendly wave and bring my kids directly to me. They open the boot if needed and carry umbrellas when it’s wet). The underlying design of the physical structures is also evident in things like having the Prep classroom closest to the drop off zone. Why is that important? Well for me, it meant that my little ones’ rooms were just right there. It makes drop off that much easier, especially if you’re doing it with a sleeping baby in the car! Smart design elements are also backed up by staff who really care. For example: at the beginning of the year, particularly, there’s always a staff member floating around outside of the early years rooms and right beside the drop off zone where younger children might be struggling to leave their parents. Staff deliberately pop over and welcome the kids. For me, those things are game changers because they are the extras, the things that you just don’t expect from a school. The staff are awesome. Let’s be honest: the world is screaming out for good quality teachers and post-Covid they have left the profession in droves. I’ve seen my kids grow incredibly as a result of the insightful, personal, academic and loving attention of their teachers and non-teaching staff. Even the groundsmen take the time to welcome my little kids (and yep, that makes them excited to go to school and that separation just a little bit less traumatic). The staff regularly engage in cross-teaching, which is great on a few levels: my kids get familiar with other teachers and therefore find the next year less confronting; more staff get to know my kids (which means that there are more staff that my kids are comfortable with and can access if they need to) and it also means that what happens in their classrooms isn’t hidden and toxic because there’s so often someone else watching. There’s quite a lot of teacher aides too (and they are incredible!!!) which means kids get more individual support. I’ll just mention the Kindy specifically too. It was so cool to see a play-based, genuinely educational setup. The teacher in me really wanted to ensure that my kids weren’t just playing in the sandpit while the staff stared out the window, and I have been incredibly impressed at the quality of what they learn. Here’s another cool thing: since the Kindy is on the same campus as the primary school, they have frequent excursions over to the big school so that by the time the kids are moving up to Prep it’s already so familiar. The Christian culture of the school is a fundamental aspect of GCS and ultimately that’s where all of this care and compassion comes from. At this school, kids are encouraged to see everything really thoughtfully through the lens of a Christian worldview and I have appreciated seeing the development of their character as a direct consequence. It really is a quality school – check it out.
Solid Christian School with good staff and curriculum. Modern air conditioned classrooms and flexible school uniform to keep them cool or warm over the year. Easy to get in and out of via car and very reasonable school fees. Enjoyable semi-rural setting-very much worth a look.
We love Glenvale Christian School and have four children there! Great, committed Christian teachers and a very strong community.
