Learning a second language versus failing all other classes……NO BENEFIT for almost 4 years now! No help (instruction/tutorials) for the preferred programs used on how to navigate or use the tools such as Echo where you can see your child’s grades, homework and communicate with teachers. I’m not computer literate and this has been hard for me in order to get help so I can in turn help my child. I get all these e-mails everyday and cant navigate it. Teachers don’t stay long and come and go like a revolving door. No stability. My child has failed Math and English for years and is just pushed along to the next grade. The next years teacher has no idea about what the previous teachers curriculum was or why the child may be failing because again they don’t stay long. In most schools a where the teachers have been there for years and years the school/teachers know what was taught in that particular class and again can go to that teacher to discuss the particular student but not at GVA. Dropping off/picking up kids in both campus has been the ultimate “MONSTER”. It was just the one school (East campus) at first but a second (West campus) now built has made it even worse. No thru street and the school cant figure out the best engineering for the route or the process. It can take up to 30 minutes to get in and out of the lots. I’m afraid I’ve made a huge mistake keeping my child here and now I’ve got to hire tutors and put her in a school where she is far behind other students and try to help her catch up and all for her to learn a second language. NO THANKS
If I could give 0 stars I would! My child attended the Global village preschool campus three years ago (she was only 4!) and was not only bullied by the kids but ALSO by the teachers!! I hate that I ever allowed her to attend this school,(It really has affected her) she still talks about the bullying that happened to her at this school.
Towards the end of the school year she would cry almost every day because she did not want to go and was afraid of the teacher(Bertha)! If you were the teachers favorite you were treated as such. If not, you were bullied, again by both teachers and kids.
Think about where you want your child to be, not just to learn a second language, but academically, what about their emotional and social needs, what if your child has a learning disability-Is this school willing to help them? My daughter learning a few Spanish words was nothing compared to the mental trauma placed on her. I must say that this school 100% did NOT provide a loving or safe space for my daughter-
*my own personal experience*
I’ve tried to get my son out
Rate and reviewof the school all year but it’s the only school in our area that is not full. The school is fairly new but poorly maintained. The teachers i’ve come across have done a wonderful job so far (West Campus) but the staff does not follow proper protocol according to their own handbook. I was blown off twice by the office administration and was once told they were not able to help me as there computers were off for the day. I’m so disappointed in this school from almost every aspect it’s hard to fathom. If you can go somewhere else – DO! This is in regards to the WEST CAMPUS only.
