In all fairness, my kids never attended Golden. However, we were accepted, and did a lot of investigation into the school. After touring the campus and interviewing with the administration, we concluded that Golden was going to be a lot more dogma-focused than we were comfortable with. There are a lot of ways to address environmental stewardship, but this school seems to harbor some of the more extreme philosophies about equity, environment, race, government paternalism that California has to offer.
Golden Charter Academy provides a unique learning experience that will not be found anywhere else in Fresno. The weekly field studies, the hands-on approach to teaching, the partnership with the local zoo, along with their environmental scientific approach makes their curriculum more future-forward than other charter schoools as well as public schools. The interaction with school faculty has been both pleasant and smooth. I look forward to my son’s educational journey and growth for the future.
I don’t know how other parents got there kids or child enrolled so fast when mine has to wait to be pulled from a waiting list which could take forever!!
