Our kids have been going to Goldfish for several years. The classes and teachers are pretty good overall. The problem with this school is that their policies have become very hard to navigate for busy parents and families. They have filled the classes so much it is next to impossible to schedule make ups. Most families are busy these days and most families require a small degree of flexibility to handle what life throws at you. The Goldfish classes are pricey and having the ability to qualify for make ups is certainly a nice feature to help with the burden of the cost, but the problem is that it’s become almost a scam when there is no ability to schedule these to use them. The make ups also expire if you withdraw. To withdraw, they require you have to give 30 days notice and pay for that entire time, but they don’t allow you that full time to even have the ability to use your make ups. The whole system is really not family friendly for families that are busy. So please beware before signing up especially if your kids are busy with a variety of activities.
My kiddos (8 year-old daughter, 3 yr-old son) LOVE Goldfish! They’ve been enrolled since August 2023 and have flourished. I love the skill set for the different strokes my daughter has developed. She went from being extremely timid, barely able to keep her head above water to swimming freestyle, back, breast, and butterfly. And my son has always been fearless near water, so the safety procedures they’ve taught him have been especially important. He can jump in the water, crab walk his way around the pool wall and pull himself safely out of the pool– and he only turned three a week ago.
