Let’s be clear MOREHEAD was a GREAT school and the curriculum was awesome and my son was challenged. Now GOVERNOR’S VILLAGE is NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!! Since they have decided to combine Morehead elementary with Nathaniel Alexander, the curriculum is super slack (which my son was no longer challenged at all) and the quality of the teaching went wayyyy down to say the least. When my son attended Morehead elementary before they combined both elementary schools (he was in kindergarten btw) his curriculum was way more challenging then when he attended 1st grade their as Governor’s Village. He became VERY bored and I am so disappointed in CMS all together. Very SLACK school system and the decision to combine these schools was the worst decision they could’ve ever made. How do expect a very low performing school like Nathaniel (school grade D) to conform to Morehead (which was a high performance school; school grade was a B in 2018)???!!! It does NOT work that way. The lack of suitable teaching and terrible curriculum completely brought those Morehead children down (not to say that those kids are better, they all deserve the best), but the curriculum offered so that Nathaniel could play catch up was wayyyy below what Morehead was used to. I LOVED Morehead and it broke my heart to see the school go through this and MOST importantly my son. Teacher’s quit left and right 2018/2019 school year and even other admins I spoke to can’t stand the school. Just awful. Smh
From what I hear this school is really good, even though it’s connected to our school. We have to wear uniforms, and my friend, not revealing names, and she says that if we wear uniforms, we won’t get picked on for the clothes we wear if we all wore the same thing. But Moorehead I think, doesn’t were uniforms. Which I think I awesome. And at my school we can’t even wear hoodies, but the younger children can. And the principal is the most horrible at my school. That’s why I wanna come here! And my friends say that they wanna come here too because you guys allow students to be on their phones. Is that correct? Because if so, definitely goin!
