I’m surprised by the negative reviews, although some appear to be trolling. Both of my children went to Grasshopper Green and had a great experience. The Mother Goose curriculum that they use is age appropriate and engaging. They do a ton of fun art projects that really work to develop their abstract thinking and fin motor skills.

Three of the teachers are among the best early childhood educators I have worked with. Ms. Shukria is firm, but kind and my inquisitive daughter thrived in her fast paced learning classroom. She is truly an engaging and professional teacher who bring decades of experience to the classroom. Ms. Darcy is similar and a consummate professional. Ms Nina is kind, compassionate and is constantly on the floor with the children. She is a generous teacher who pours herself into her students. The two year old room is a really fun place with a lot of games, art and activity. I credit the aide, Ms. Dian, with patiently potty training my children. She’s a bit stoic with adults, but she is kind and patient with the children and they truly respond to her gentle ways.

The school brings in outside speakers and entertainment at least once a month. These include magicians, naturalists, firemen, and fun specials like the Bear Bus. Each classroom is well equipped with a large amount of age appropriate toys and they have one of the best outdoor playgrounds around. If your child is in the full day program, there are extra-curricular activities that they bring in during the afternoon for a fee. I really appreciated that my children could take soccer, gymnastics and dance without me giving up my time on the weekend or in the evenings to take them.

While we didn’t send our children to Kenwood Elementary School, we do use their summer and winter break camps. The camps are fun, with daily field trips and enough down time to allow the kids to play and just be kids.

Everything that Jennifer said in her review is spot on in my experience. I have two kids and they both went to Grasshopper Green and one went to Kindergarten and Summer Camp at Kenwood.

Grasshopper Green provides a great environment for the kids to thrive – a good balance between down time/fun and formal instruction. The teachers are kind and have years of experience. My kids love their teachers! Likewise, you can see how much the teachers care for their little ones. My sons’ teachers even came to his birthday party!

I think the best testament to the school’s administration is that there is little turnaround of teachers. There are also multiple families that keep coming back to bring siblings or simply to participate in family events. Thw Fall Festival is the best!

In short, we’ve been parents of children in Grasshopper Green for over 3 years and still love it. We’ve also recommended the school to other families and they’ve had positive experiences too.

I don’t recommend this place to nobody. The worse. I had my 3 yr old daughter in their head start class. The so called adults that supposedly are taking care of the kids are instead chatting on the phone or Not caring about the kids. They asked for me to take her milk that she drinks. I go and check if she still has milk and her teachers tells me that my daughter has not been drinking milk. Of course her milk was expired and she didn’t bother to check it. I ADVISE EVERYBODY TO STAY AWAY AND TRY YOUR LUCK SOMEWHERE ELSE. BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS THE WORSE. 0 STARS FROM ME.
