Sarah Silverman paints a wonderful picture of the ideals and principles of running a Montessori school however fails miserably in delivery and practice. We definitely felt bait and switched with some of the questions we had asked during our tour and after they accepted our non refundable deposit (convenient). My child’s experiences here is less than ideal considering the fact that I started noticing the teachers never once changed my child’s diaper which is atrocious and unacceptable. Sarah’s attitude and communication style towards me was condescending, confrontational, and patronizing despite the fact my child’s basic needs were not met. I wouldn’t get any updates on how much food my child consumed. Additionally the staff is overworked and isn’t the most engaging with the children at times and some of them don’t even have prior childcare experience nor relevant degrees which is disappointing when you are being charged a premium for your child to receive a Montessori education. Who cares about a beautiful classroom, toys or curriculum when my child is uncomfortably stewing in biological filth for hours on end because the teachers couldn’t be bothered to change diapers. Also they don’t offer a transitional program you basically drop your kid off cold turkey. Morning drop offs are a bit insane as there are usually a bunch of kids crying even ones that have been there full time for months which is a red flag in of itself.
We love the school community! The guides create a special bond with each child in the classroom. Our son loves and cares for his guides/teachers and each child in his room. The school has such a safe, warm and inviting environment. The classrooms are lovely (made for the child to foster their independence) and the gross motor room has lots of space and equipment for children to independently play. We love that the guides/teachers take the children on walks and adventures outside. They learn and discover things for themselves! We get updates daily through their app and the guides/teachers communicate to parents often. Wonderful staff, great location, highly reccommend! They offer tours so you can see the children environment in live time 🙂
We loooove it here at Guidepost Montessori Mag Mile! Our child has been attending since Toddler’s class to now entering the Elementary program in the fall! She loves going to school and tells me how much fun she has everyday. She even tells me about conflicts and how her teachers help her work through them. We are so grateful for the warm and safe environment the staff provide for the children. The classrooms are fantastic, teachers and staff are wonderful. I don’t have much expectations for a 5 year old but my daughter can read chapter books independently, writes *in cursive*, works on art projects daily, and has the biggest heart towards her classmates. Thank you Guidepost!
