Gulf Pointe is a school I would recommend to anyone moving into the panhandle. As a family thats lived all over the world and attended every type of school from international to public stateside to homeschooling and finally landing at GPLS, we have fallen in love with this school. The opportunities provided to each student allowing them to learn and grow in an advanced level form of education are above any Ive ever experienced. The class structure and curriculum as well as size all beneficial to my childrens learning. The extracurricular activities provided to each student are top notch. The students not only learn a rigorous curriculum they are learning life skills. Something, like I stated before, Ive never experienced before anywhere else. I cannot say enough positive things about this school and the staff and all that they have given to my family this past year.
Highly Recommended
My son was “evaluated” for the 4 year old class. The evaluation consisted of playing on the playground with friends. They allowed him to slide down a wet slide and when I got him he was wet. I saw him playing, being attentive to the teacher and holding her hand when going from place to place. I got a letter a week later that he was not accepted. No reasoning as to why. So I basically spent 75 dollars to have women carelessly watch my son play at a park, allow him to get soaked, and then tell him he isn’t good enough for their program lol. They also tell you that you aren’t allowed to ask the teachers how it went. They provided zero feedback in the letter but say he’s welcome to try again next year lol. No thanks. I will save my time and efforts for a program that appreciates and respects all applicants.
My son has been at this school almost 8 years. He has grown in ways beyond our imagination. The education offered there is all encompassing, challenging and carefully curated to assist the parents in raising a critical thinker prepared for today’s challenges. I’ve been blown away at times, for example when my child, at 9 yrs old was able to conjugate a Spanish verb, having had no Spanish classes, after taking several years of Latin. Music is key and required as well, not treated as a “nice to do if we have time.” Based in Classical Education, it not only cultivates wisdom but virtue. I have found most critics of GPLS have no true understanding of Classical Education to begin with.
