Literally the worst school I have ever attended. Some of the teachers here are extremely rude and look down at students like they are uneducated and stupid. They act as if they are too good to be bothered. Others are nicer, but the majority are not. I went here for a little over two years and the course work is easier in some classes than others. Way too much work in my opinion. Ridiculous standards i.e expecting a full power point presentation in one class and a test in another class or two and maybe an essay in another. Some days I would be glued to my computer for far more than 8 hours or have to take a loss and get a 0 in one of my classes for the assignment. Did not have a good experience with the testing coordinator or one of the front desk ladies. They were very rude to me and unorganized. The whole testing schedule is unorganized in my opinion. I guess it’s not that bad if you live near here and can drive to the location every day for 3-5 days whenever your finals are, but I could not do that. Also finals were ridiculously spread out so I found myself maybe taking a final at 11 am and then having to wait there all day to do another at 3 pm. Overall bad experience. Lazy teachers, rude staff, unorganized, excessive work, just a big no for me. My advice is if you are considering putting your child in a online public school consider Connections Academy first. I’m a senior at CA now and my experience is wayyy better. Free tuition just like GOC, better organization, state wide enrollment (so not just limited to gwinnett), teachers actually call you to make sure you understand everything and to help you pass their classes ( they show a genuine interest in your academics and well being ), easier coursework WITHOUT the 12 o clock deadline, so if you happen to not be able to submit a test or coursework or any major assignment within the due date, it’s fine! you have time to do it and will not be given a permanent 0. Basically, don’t waste your time at GOC.

I went to this school for a year and I started off rough and stressed out. I couldn’t keep up with my work, I never got the e-mails on time, and the teachers hardly care about your grades unless you were already a student there. This school is good but they always have bad times. I was supposed to graduate this year but now they are saying it’s not possible. The counselors and teachers see you every day and most of them know who you are but they will not help you on bettering yourself, they would walk right passed you with a smile. When i was a student at GOC I made multiple appointments with my counselor about my grades and she never answered me back. so if you enroll your child please watch the staffs and your child.
