My son has suspected autism and to say this school has been difficult and uncaring is an understatement. How in the world they have won a mental health award is anyones guess, as they have dragged their feet when I’ve repeatedly requested help with paperwork, ignored my calls and emails and just made it extremely difficult for my son to enjoy his time at school with their staffs ignorant approach when it comes to mental health, or disability. Now today, my son has come out of school completely distraught after a teacher screamed in his face because he wouldn’t perform in a music lesson. Anybody with a child with autism will know that they don’t like being put on the spot, but apparently, screaming at him and making him feel intimidated is the way to communicate to a child like mine. Please, if you have a child with a similar condition, then reconsider sending them here. It will ruin any confidence they have and make them fearful of school.
I have a mixed opinion. I only really recommend this school to you if your child is an aspiring musician or an excellent rugby player, otherwise, they don’t care about your child at all! The music and PE teachers will favor your child if they’re good at the subject. If they’re not,its like they don’t exist! Also, my son keeps having substitute teachers,as the staff has a shortage.
The ONLY good thing about this school is the food. THE FOOD!
If I could give it no stars I would. This school gives absolutely no support to the students and when they give you an agreement and you follow it they go ahead and call you a liar and lie to other teachers faces and say there was no agreement. The bullying never gets sorted out and it lead it to get worse and personally im always shoved away like my feelings dont matter.
Awful school. My daughter is in year 7, been bullied and took to self harm. Spoke to deputy head who has put it as a “low level” and her way of resolving the issue is to tell my daughter to stay away from her and its “just 2 children who aren’t getting on”! My daughters got 16 cuts up her arm! When do they class it as a high level? Absolutely disgusting!
If your child has any disabilities or adisability.. I wouldn’t send your child here as the staff don’t have any idea how to look after your child who will be pickt on for being different but I can say some staff are okay to chat to but problems don’t seam to be sorted ..
