Some of the teachers of this school need a refresher course on privacy laws as they seem to be happy breaking them openly… they will happily read out emails between the teachers and the parents infront of the class to aid the other students in bullying said students id recommend either not taking your kids here or if you do dont email the teachers as emails get read out in class
Decent school with huge diverse range of students with different backgrounds. Has decent teachers although some shouldn’t be teaching. Huge problem with girls jumping other girls though and very clique
I was hesitant to enroll my children in this school, they were in Gleneagles. Gleneagles does not deal well with bullying and has become a rough school. My children hated Gleneagles so I enrolled them here. I have no idea why this school has such a bad reputation, teachers are better, reception staff friendly (bursa at Gleneagles completely unapproachable). Yes some kids don’t want to learn however if your children have good studying schools they will get somewhere.
I had my son study in the so called reputed schools for 3 years before shifting him to Hallam for his year 10. Turned out the best decision I ever made for him. 🙂

He is doing very well in his studies and has learnt a lot of life skills. A child who wasn’t interested in Maths , has opted for Maths Methods for his VCE. He is currently study to be a psychologist. Thanks to his wonderful teachers who helped him identify his potential and encouraged him to try.

I am very happy with the teachers and their academic team. They are always prompt and there to help even for very trivial matters from the parents perspective.

I have received regular updates about my son’s performance. I love the parent teacher meetings where they provide constructive feedback about your child’s performance.

I am positive that very soon the ATAR score of Hallam Senior College would be on par with the so called reputed schools.

More than Academic scores, I am happy that my son has evolved as a better human being at Hallam. He just loves the school and the teachers.

Thanks to the Academic Team and the Teachers of Hallam.:)

This school really has a bad reputation but for what?

If you want to get an education and you are dedicated to getting an education then this school is no worse than any other school in the area. I went to Hallam, got the ATAR I needed and got into my first preference course. Most teachers here are knowledgeable and will go above and beyond for your education if you do.

A lot of the time Hallam teachers get a bad rap because their students under-performing is seen as a reflection on them.
Academically Hallam seems to be a poorly performing school.
While it is true Hallam generally has a lower ATAR than other local schools, but this is because a high proportion of Hallam students attend for the sports academy. Generally speaking, the sports academy focus much more on sport than their grades and as a result the school’s average ATAR is lowered significantly.
