Went to this school when I was in 3rd and 4th grade back in 1989 to 1991. The principal was amazing. My 3rd grade teacher was cold mean and needed to learn what it meant to be a teacher. My 4th grade teacher was amazing as well. Mrs Ricky mandelbaum. I forgot the principals name but my mom and I became homeless when I was in the middle of 3rd grade because of my abusive dangerous father. Then he called CPS on her for being an incompetent and neglectful mother when he caused us to be homeless. He wanted custody not because he wanted me but he already found an adoptive family to take me. Well the principle and my mrs Mandelbaum knew my mother was amazing and not only did they not let CPS onto the school grounds to take me but the Principle knew we had no food. Throughout the year we had these bookmarks that had 5 spaces to put a sticker. With every book you completed the principe would give you a sticker to add to the book mark. After you filled the 5 spaces you took the book mark to Pizza Hut on platt and victory and they gave the student a personal pan pizza. Well the principe knew we were homeless and had no food or little hot food so she gave me a stack of filled book marks so my mom and I could have food when I was not in school for the food program and my mom not having food normally.
I will forever be grateful to those two angels. The 3rd grade teacher knew the issues I had but had not empathy and punished me daily. I didnt need more abuse I needed help.
I was a student here for 6 years. (Kinder-5th) This school is kind of good, but there are lots of bullies/mean people. The staff and teachers are quite good and nice. Except for a few teachers. The few teachers normally let you have free time instead of learning which doesn’t make me learn much and I forget or the next year, I don’t even know how to do it. For afterschool, MOST coaches were mean to the students, and people did not like that. But I think this school is still quite a good school to go to.
Horrible just horrible. Our kids are testing postive every week. Yet the school isnt shutdown and they want the workers and the kids to wear double mask? what happen to the vaccine and we dont need mask? now you guys need to double mask and they changed their testing date from tuesday to thursday just so kids dont test positive .. Horrible school and staff. Embarrassing
