I have a daughter on the spectrum that has been denied help. This school needs to seriously educate themselves on Autism. Some kids do have trouble learning but that does NOT mean kids with Autism are dumb! My daughter is high functioning but struggles socially etc… they said that because she does well with school work she will be fine and does NOT need help. She has been bullied for years! The principal and vice principal make empty promises. It seems like Mr. Martins gets paid to look pretty and Mrs. Boer to look tired. My daughter has 1 friend and one time my daughter’s friend invited her friends to hang out with them at recess and Mr. Martins said see no Autism or social difficulties I saw her surrounded by girls. Who gave this man a job? I have a nephew diagnosed with PDD NOS with a lot of stereotypical behaviors and guess what he is smart and has been receiving Services since he was 3. He is a part of the student council at his school . I don’t know what makes you think SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS ARE DUMB?! Autism is complicated and you should NOT be in the educational field if you don’t know about learning differences. My nephew was 4 when he taught himself to read! Yeah he could read and memorized 25 page books but if you tried to talk to him he couldn’t answer you because he didn’t know what to say! Educate yourself. I cannot imagine how low your opinion must be of all the special needs kids at this school. Horrible place! I don’t recommend this school.
I am positive this school will one day be on the news and NOT for a good reason. They ARE well aware of students threatening another students life/ assault /terroristic threats towards a classmate and they do EVERYTHING possible to pretend it’s not a big deal and that it never happened. They just don’t want to be forced to do the job they get paid to do.

They have a Handbook that they themselves do not follow so what’s the point of having one? Why waste paper sending one home with every student?

My advice to any parent considering this school is DON’T! There’s no real authority here just people filling seats and getting paid for it. If you’re a parent and bring up a concern they’ll just all look at you like your crazy and need to get over it. If you are related to someone that works there or have a friend that works at the school then you should be fine because those kids are granted immunity.

The school is not all bad they have a couple good things going on but the negative heavily outweighs the good. They really drop the ball when it comes to bullying and the well being of the student. They don’t care they are not interested. I had both Mrs. Boer and Mr. Martins lie straight to my face and say they would follow up and notify me of some things and guess what? It’s been several months and they were full of it. They will say anything to just get you out. All they do is walk around and pretend their job is so hard. Mr. Martins is earning more than $80,000 a year and at that price you should work a little harder. Mrs. Boer earns well over $120,000 a year and for what she does she is way way way overpaid. No wonder schools have no money. They pay the people that do nothing the most.????
