I would not recommend your child go here. When I was here they weren’t very accommodating to my disorder. For context, Accelerated Reading, the test that would show you how many reading points you needed based on what grade level you tested up to, still existed (ex: if you did really good on the test, let’s say you had a ninth grade reading level and needed 40 points in order to go to the AR party). I was here in fourth grade when it was a regular school and I had the opportunity to stay for fifth grade when it turned into an academy. I struggled with OCD and read very slow. The ELA teacher was not very helpful in this regard. She said that I should be able to meet my AR goal even though it was around 60 points because the AR test said I had tested up to a 12th grade reading level. My mom asked for this to be changed, but the teacher refused. She also suggested that I had purposefully made a bad grade in order to get my level to drop, but I hadn’t done this. She made it seem like the system was perfect and never gave in to my mom’s request. Surely enough, AR was discontinued because it was inaccurate just a year later. All of the other teachers were pretty nice, though the math teacher would make students do around 20 pages of math depending on how much they finished in class with the little remaining amount of time they had at the ebd (because I was slow, I sometimes had twenty pages to do and as a fifth grader I was under a lot of stress). This school was lovely before it became an academy, but now it has turned for the worse. Please send your child to a different school, like Robinson. This school is not very accommodating to students.
I went to this school when I was in Fifth grade, now I’m graduated. I loved that school, I was one of the first fifth graders there the year it opened
I go to this school. It makes learning fun, and if you ever have thought about it, maybe take your child to this wonderful school.
