I looked far and wide for this school and have loved it for all of my kids! It has AP curriculum and an academic preschool available! It’s a very clean and secure facility! They have great gifted services such as speech pathologists. My kids have learned various languages such as Spanish and Chinese. Zero tolerance discipline policies and a general sense of teaching great quality moral values and core life responsiblities. They are a close net community that is very supportive! The only thing that has ever been just a tad bit frustrating at times is the parking lot…it’s not huge and there is a process to follow and when you get that one parent who parks their car in the middle of the pickup/dropoff lane it just really frustrates the rest of the process for everyone else but this is getting better with the help of some volunteers to guide and monitor the traffic better…thanks for all they do because it really does make a huge difference! I also like that they are conscious of sustainability by using solar powered resources from the parking structures and recycling programs. They also have water misters all around the front entrance where the kids can stay cool while waiting for their parents to pick them up! I have gone out of my way to drive my kids to this school from no matter where we lived…love it! <3
Hearn Academy was a great school when Dr. Leo was here there was support, help, and teachers and staff respected. Today there is no respected with our staff, bullying goes throughout the grades, there isn’t support/help anymore like there was when you needed it. Neither attention to the dress code, don’t care to even dress correctly cause of the students, it’s literally a rip off to pay about $300 a month for Husky Club, and the school is more dirty than before barely it has attention when there is vandalism or no tp. I recommend to not try this school with the current staff they have. I wish I could’ve rated it 0 stars, but that’s not an option.
My two boys had a wonderful experience at this school. We moved out of the area and we’re going to miss everyone so much. Its a very close knit group, teachers and staff are very friendly and helpful. I loved how almost every teacher knew my kids names even though they didn’t even have them as a teacher. I also appreciated that you could walk your child to the classroom and talk with the teacher before school, something you can’t do at public schools.
Only negative is the drop off/pick up and the parking lot – not an ideal configuration.
