Heavers Farm what can I say, great location if you are from the local area of Croydon. The parking if you drive can be crazy like most schools are but in most cases you should be able to find side roads to park. The school itself is okay three of our kids attended this school but if I had better choices (which we did have once we moved away from the area) I would not have selected Heavers Farm. The school has a zero complaint policy meaning if you ever disagree with anything the school does, parents often find themselves being blocked from coming on the school premises. My kids likewise often tell us stories about kids being in detention for some ridiculous reasons. Google story’s about Heavens Farm stopping parents from coming onto the school property, some have made the news most have not. The breakfast club and after school club is decent no real complaints except the payment system. Once you book your kids to attend if you don’t send them you won’t get a refund.
This school is very strict, my children will cry if they are running late because they will get detention. At times they will bring back items from their pack lunch (eg chocolate cake) because they are told it’s not healthy. The school expects alot from the children and parents but they are not supportive or helpful. I’ve asked several times for extra support for my child but the school has refused due to my child not having any medical special needs.
This primary school has very friendly and professional staff and an active PTA. The result and Ofsted rating have been good, if I had to gripe it would be about the way that communication is managed. We get a lot of messages that are not relevant to us and yet some important messages only go to one parent rather than both.
Headteacher Ms Papas is hated by the majority of teachers parents and school board. Observe the turnover of staff. This is the main reason for its constant cheating and failing our education system. Ofsted have been informed and the exodus of very competent teachers is proof. Croydon council have to take action very soon.
My daughter came back from school with bruises all around her face, just to realised that she got bullied! The teachers did nothing to help her.
