This school is really under rated which isn’t okay. I’m a student here, and almost everything people say of this school is untrue. This is one of the original 4 schools in Jersey and has excellent arts programs (singing, dance, acting, photography, media arts, graphic arts). This school has the least drama, and though students can act wild at times (cursing, attitude) it’s normal with teens and highschools. No gangs roam the halls and there’s no drugs being done in the hallway (huge rumour people believed) The new principal has done an extraordinary job in helping students stay on the right path, healthy environment and positive mindset of success. She makes sure the school is like a second home where students feel they are safe and free to express themselves.There’s also an area where students who need to vent, share struggles or need help (setting school goals, getting personal issues off their chest) can go to get the help they need. Here’s to class of 2021, I am a proud student of Snyder!
It’s nauseating how disrespectful the kids are that go to this school. Consistently screaming, cursing & smoking weed past my child daily. I wish I could afford a new place but unfortunately we are stuck. Wish they would teach a class on on to behave in public & respect others “especially children”
Snyder is one of the original four public high schools in Jersey City. Excellent media program.
