I give Heritage Montessori 0 stars. We were told the school helps parents potty train. They do not. My son had an accident a few times when he first started going here and my husband and I had to leave work a few times, 3 weeks in a row to pick him up. Kids have accidents, that’s why it is called potty training. We would take him to school in underpants and he would come home in a diaper. He was almost completely potty trained when we started this school only to be 100% not potty trained at all by the time we finally left.
The teachers have horrible attitudes. They do not great you in the morning. My son would go up to 2 teachers and said Good Morning only to be ignored. My son was having trouble focusing and staying on task. My husband and I were repeatedly told we needed to go to parenting classes. Every week we were asked if we had started classes.
It got to the point where we didn’t want to leave our son at this school. I would leave in tears. The amount of stress they put us through was completely unnecessary.
The owner is a complete joke and is a true scam artist. Do not trust her!
Once we left this awful place, my son went to My First Montessori. Night and day. He was potty trained in 2 weeks, stopped having night terrors, was happy again and we had him tested for add. Come to find out he is autistic. No we did NOT need parenting classes. My son has a disability. You would think one that has been a teacher for as many years as Mrs. Kathy might know a little something about that.
WARNING: Do not attend this preschool.
Heritage is an aweful preschool and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I enrolled my 3 year old son at this preschool in April 2017 and even after 7 months he learned squat. Talk about starting your kids off by teaching them confusing gender-specific manner, Heritage made all the toddler boys sit on the toilet to pee. Our son didn’t learn anything at Heritage and we were shocked at how slow he assimilated English after 7 months. We took our son out of Heritage and enrolled him into another preschool where he quickly learned English and many other skills in just 2 short weeks. Now at 4 weeks into this other preschool my son is blossoming and speaking English, learning his alphabet, and learning his nursery songs. Heritage practices discrimination, for example it takes 90% more photos of Caucasian kids then other ethnic kids which it emails out in the weekly Smilebox. This is probably a good school for Caucasian and maybe ethnic kids who already speak English, but not a good preschool at all if your kids don’t fit those two criteria.
School is bad. I attempted to deliver a free publication to the school and ended up going thru the wrong gate. But no signs posted about going thru the front. As the entrance in in the rear and the exit is in the front. Gate was not locked to prevent anyone coming in the back way. The teacher in the upstairs classroom was rude and almost at a point of cussing in front of the students. I deliver to other places like this one and there are always signs posted that say “do not enter, visitors must go thru the front” and an arrow pointing the way. No such signage with this one. A FAIL on their part I assume. But even tho I went thru the wrong area, that teacher should have said I’m sorry, but visitors are supposed to go thru the front, instead of how the heck did you get in here. And rudely say that I’m to get out of there now. Don’t blame others for fails on your part!
