I have been in this school since 2015 and I am now in year six it is fantastic rated best school in leeds and in the 25 best schools in all of england it as an academy with fabulous unique play areas. I am happy to say that this is the best school I could have dreamed of and it will be hard to let go of so I recommend Hillcrest Academy
I used to study there as a child. Since year 4 – 5. I had to leave due to the amount of bullying I had to deal with in a daily basis because I was a lightly shaded and because I was foreign/I couldn’t speak English when I started school.

From name calling, to being tied up and wiped by fellow students and classmates for 30min. I received daily beatings, there wasn’t a day where I didn’t go home without a bruise.

I remember going home with two black eyes and when my mother asked what happened the staff simply said “nothing”, when they watched what happened with their two own eyes and didn’t bother to interfere with the situation.
I tried speaking to members of staff plenty of times and so did my parents. The staff always dismissed it.

I spent most of my childhood and to my late teen years struggling with anxiety and depression due to that experience. It ruined my life. No child deserves to go through such a thing.

Terrible school, I hope it’s better now, and I hope all the staff that allowed those kids to ruin my life got fired. Don’t ever put your child there unless you want them to become suicidal and depressed.

I did ‘Let Leeds Read’ in this school through my university – Leeds Beckett last year. I read with year 6 kids and they were extremely polite and so clever. What a credit to the school!
When i started for my placement on 5th November 2018 i thought it went OK but so far the school was incredible ever even though the teacher was very good to try their best to help the children and young people to get the better education for their futures
an excellent school ,very hard-working , well-trained and friendly teachers. many thanks and greetings to miss street and miss mahmood.
