I can recommend having smaller class sizes in the middle schools particularly in the advanced-co mingled resource classes that typically have 28+ kids.
It can be a safety issue when co-teachers often call out and the remaining teacher cannot divide appropriate time to over 30 kids.
Early release should move to Friday for a better transitional experience consider moving to a 4 day work/school week for students and teachers this should provide effective strategy for planning purposes. As well as to prevent burnout and retain quality staff multi year tenure.
Paraprofessionals are in need of a raise with many higher level paras needing to have CPR/BLS credentials plus prior experience in the field and all the required activities and skill sets they are very deserving of minimum $18 for level 1 paras and going up to $26-28 for level 3 paras and teaching assistants.
When McDonald’s is now paying up to $20 hourly this is no sufficient pay the rents are averaging $1800-2300+ a month. Please figure out way to pay staff and contractors that way they are paid for long breaks such as winter break which is 2 1/2 weeks long. Work on more options for summer so more teachers and paraprofessionals can work during summer and not have a loss of income.
Please work on using all abandoned school buildings and properties as supportive housing for SDHC employees and vetted contractors.
Lastly when it comes to cafeteria menu please label all food allergies many foods are missing ingredient lists accessible that include pork, or porcine, and gelatin. Include more food choices that are either halal, kosher, or both, and more vegetarian choices.
Address discrimination and allow employees to be fully participating in surveys as other employees are. Please make all bathroom facilities equal accommodations so staff are not forced to have accidents, as most facilities are locked not all staff are issued keys per admin. Also big concern food is not accessible to all employees in district schools due to not accepting cards or Apple Pay many vending machines have been removed or tagged out of service.
This is very very bad to the employees educating, assisting with educating, and maintaining safety and cleaningliness of facilities at district schools.
Erin Menne Wantabe, the assistant principal over the curriculum is the reason one of the workers ended up having a panic attack. He and a few others worked in the testing room. If youre looking to work at this school as a support staff..DONT! Erin Menne demands so much work that she doesnt care about your family needs. Stay late and do comp time she says. I dont care whats happening with your family. The massive amount of work and stress does not match that tiny minimum wage pay. You will regret it Erin knows nothing and says she will deny everything. Cares about no one but her twins. Lied to Principal Cox and she believed that these folks really couldnt do the job. Well there was a lot of inadequate training. Something needs to be done about this. That AP will lie during the interview saying its not a you or me problem. But tells the principal a full lie and blames the staff. Cant keep secretaries, testing coordinators, registrars, guidance secretaries. She bullies anyone that comes against her. Do not take a position under this administration. Something needs to be done about the administration at this school. Allowing the apc to treat staff like their slaves. If you change the administration maybe theyll rise above being always a C school. Dont send your kids here either. Its giving Lean on me the 1986 movie vibes. Multiple fights a day
