Now before Confusion starts happening, I am supportive of all of my teachers, I like all of my teachers that have helped me out and I learned a lot of useful skills from, William C Hinkley High School Does have good teachers but seem to have a lack of responsibility and a lack of any interest in our health and needs.

Now you are probably thinking I am just a troubled Kid, I am not, This is coming from an A and B grade student, This is my opinion on this.

Their dress code is not accurate and needs updating, Certain Kids are okay with wearing shorts and tanktops and others are not,for example if someone is badly dehydrated, Having to wear pants and a T shirt is not the healthiest for their needs, Imagine that bad feeling every day for that poor individual. Why doesn’t this school take responsibility? Why can’t we at least work to get that privilege and earn it rather than having it taken away automatically for 4 years, If you priviledge them, then people will work harder and will put their best effort to be able to do that
Why can’t they at least consider that?
That’s like saying you can’t wear shorts or a tanktop in a Hospital or a church because it is distracting, It is not, people wear them in public all the time to stay cool and stay hydrated that is why they were designed to the public in the first place, in fact, In addition to that, Every day after school I change to cooler clothes almost every day until it gets cold, Sorry for off topic comment.

Next: The Lunches
Good thing I bring my own lunch, Their pizza is usually black and sometimes burnt which is not the healthiest at all even though their excuse is to make it more healthy when it is not it even turns into a even bigger issue and affects our health at that point!

It just seems like this school focuses more on education than health or anything like you can’t even text your mom if it is an emergency which leads to a bigger issue and makes your mom worried about you. And they worry more about education than us being comfortable and getting the health and the things we need. We need an alternative this is not working, Please fix this, I don’t want to deal with this anymore Please consider this APS Please, It will make us much better and it will make people want to work harder and get better grades, What is the worst that can happen? Please make my message heard!!!!!!

Please take at least into consideration my ideas into consideration about policies and other things, make my comment stand up to APS people Please, It is not a distraction, Just like in public, you don’t just look at people when they are in shorts, you just move on, See not distracting plus it is just a shirt and shorts, so what? They won’t learn just because they are wearing a different shirt or shorts?!?! Does that sound efficient or even professional at all?!?! Please fix this policy, The only main policy I am against, Make my message heard, Lets do something about this if you agree, Like this post and make your voice heard, Lets help show APS that this dress code and their food needs to be fixed and updated like it should have been 13 years ago, Lets team up together to make a change, No one will make it for us, We have to be the ones to make our voice heard about this policy, This is a free country, Everyone Deserves equal rights everywhere and APS is going against that it seems like so lets please team up to fix these problems and help alternitives be made to make APS a better resource not only for our needs but for our fuiture and our education, Let’s do this, Nothing is impossible, Let’s do this, Who is with me on this?
Thanks for your time please take this into consideration

Hinkley is a high school that is named after a former Aurora Public Schools superintendent, it has been plagued with years of poor leadership and high staff turnover. The faculty leave because some are fired and because others find more suitable schools elsewhere. The leadership is poor because of its incompetence.

Aurora Public Schools has received the International Baccalaureate designation for Hinkley like other APS schools, giving it a prestigious image. In fact, Hinkley does have some bright students But the majority are plagued with many frailties – addition to using cell phones in class (despite clear prohibitions against their use by the school and the district), for example. Other woes include a pervasive disregard for academic rigor and hard work. Almost all students scowl and the mention of homework. Few have ever attended a school where rigorous academics are the norm.

There is a second side of Hinkley that rarely is discussed – its racial tensions. The faculty is 90% white, as is the school’s principal and most of the assistant principals. The predominantly Latino student population has only experienced mostly Anglo teachers, so the introduction of non Anglos into the faculty has had mixed success. The school also has initiatives to mentor African American male students, yet the majority of males on campus are Latino.

Hinkley does operate a health care careers magnet-type of program and has other programs with good reputations. If one attends Hinkley, those are the classes in which you should enroll.

With respect to the English Language Learners who attend the school, the verdict is mixed. There are no ELA para professionals in the building, which significantly hinders aiding students make a link between their native language and English. Why no ELA para professionals is not known, but the schools likes to tout its large number of students whose home language is not English.

All in all, Hinkley is an average school.

This is the worst school i have ever attended, very unorganized and complicate everything, they have problems with the pipes in the school and the whole place smells like a unflushed toilet! Students are hopeless, and teachers give up on us. This school is about safety not education! Every teen that goes here acts like a 6th grader, no joke! The whole school has rated our class of 2017 the worst the school has ever seen. Buses are a no go, they only have 4 of them in the whole school, and if you live over 2 miles they wont even try, these buses are not even there’s they are cherry creek school buses. So technically this school have no buses at all! I cant believe people would be rating this school a 5! If you have a choice between this school and another, make this your last choice, unless of cores its gateway, or any other Aurora School. This school is the definition of ghetto. When i went to the first foot ball game, kids were pissed because the wheels on there bikes got stolen while the game was going on! And on top of that, i don’t even think this school has a health class, which doesn’t help that 1 out of 2 classes has at least 1 pregnant teen. To my surprise drugs are not a big problem here, the whole school is crawling with security, that just sit outside the school. The outside of this school look great but when you walk through the halls and classes you can tell they missed a lot when they refurbished the place. Overall NOT a great school. Iv gone to more then one and so far this is THE worst of been to, cant wait to leave.
