We arived in the US 1969 from the Philippines and I attended 6th grade at this school before moving to Baldwin Park, Ca. in 1970. My teacher was Mr. Parlow who sent me to art school with his own money because he believed I was a good artist and he wanted me to pursue a career in art. I painted a geraffe on canvas for him that they hung at the principal’s office for years. Mr. Parlow, if you are still around, I am forever greatful to you for believing in me and investing in my future. May God bless you.
My elementary school till 1970. Kindergarten was the best and the oven fried shake n bake chicken in the cafeteria was also a great memory, “foil please”! Remember POSTURE classes in the AUDITORIUM? JUICE OR MILK MONEY PINNED ON YOUR SHIRT IN A LITTLE MANILA ENVELOPE WITH YOUR NAME ON IT, THE MAY POLE DANCE? MEMORIES ARE GREAT TO VISIT, BUT YOU REALLY SHOULDN’T WANT TO LIVE THERE. SO VERY DOG GONE TRUE!
