1. In ALL New Zealand schools, WE ALL sing the national anthem for NZ. In this school there has been NO National anthem in Hobs.
2. The teachers will talk to the students like a primary kid teacher PLUS the teachers are ALLOWED to attend their babies there which is so unhygienic.
3. Hardly any rules. There are NO dress codes. U are allowed to wear a short tank top, short thigh skirts, revealing dress for the girls. Since there r some nerdy boys that attend there do make them feel uncomfortable and for other girls with security issues.
4. The white & Indian teachers do NOT know how to deal with Islanders/Maoris students at all!
5. Some old white teachers are like Karen’s if you’re not used to white teachers. The ‘old white Karen’s’ WILL touch your belongings IF you do not listen to them!
6. This school needs to change!
Does not teach knowledge required for university.

If your child plans to go on to tertiary-level education, then it would be best to send them to another school. This is because although HPSS teaches via the NCEA education system, it does not teach all of the required standards, leaving graduates with gaps in their knowledge, which become very evident when beginning university.

Spent 1 year here in year 9 before moving to rangi, this place gave me two instances of testicular torsion, one instance of kidney failure, came close to having many different forms of cancer, but perhaps worst of all, got called a “he” instead of “2009 smart toaster.”
0/10, became a gormless soul
theres vape competitons run by studens and the teachers haven’t caught on plus you don’t learn anything and this school is really bad at everything
The birds at this school stole my mince and cheese pie and the teachers didnt care.
