I took my daughter to this daycare years ago for about 5 months. I was recently telling a friend about my experience and decided to look online to see if it had been shut down yet. I was shocked to see that it’s still open and have a 3 star rating. This daycare is absolutely horrible. Most of the staff seemed mentally slow and uneducated. A friend of mine had her child there too and went to pick him up and found that the staff was allowing my daughter to eat markers. (She was under a year old) . My daughter cried like crazy every time I dropped her off and would even cry when we drove by the building. Every day when I picked her up so was so stressed out that she would run to me screaming and crying and begging to leave. The very last day that my daughter attended, I went to pick her up and it took the staff 15 minutes to find that my daughter had been accidentally locked in a bathroom with the light off. MY 1 year old daughter! I was so furious I screamed at the staff and stormed out and never came back again. They never contacted me for any money I owed and I’m sure it’s because they knew they messed up bad. I honestly think that the positive reviews on here are phony so don’t be fooled. I don’t know if things have changed over the years but I thought I would share my experience just incase it hasn’t. Don’t take your children here.
The main positive i have to say is the price which doesn’t mean much. This daycare is very unsecured. There is no security locks to get in, anybody can just walk in and go grab a child in a matter of seconds. The director of the daycare is rarely at her desk so nobody even greets you when you walk in until you walk into your childs room. The sign in and out sheet is just a piece of paper that nobody even checks so your child is never accounted for. So like i said the price is the only positive. I was paying $150 a week full time for my 10 month old. Whenever i picked up my child there was alwasys somebody new watching my kid and they never knew what was going on during the day time when my child was there. My kid was always a mess after eating and was never properly cleaned. They’ve misplaced so many bibs and couldn’t keep tracks of where his coat went or what they washed of mine. There were a few caretakers that i loved but the rest were just 20 year old minimum wage kids watching my child who really didn’t care to be there except for the paycheck. If i was desperate on money i would never take my child here again but it was $200 bucks less a month then everywhere else.
My son battled with failure to thrive for the first five months of being with Horizon (we have almost hit our year with them 🙂 ). He couldn’t keep food down and was extremely irritable. The owner Shanda and her amazing team took great care of him. He is now off failure to thrive as we have found he is allergic to corn….. corn is in everything! He is now on a strict diet and the team is always on top of it. They are so kind and treat my son like family. They are understanding and great with the kids.
I absolutely love this childcare center! That’s why it saddens me that their are more negative comments on here than good. When people have a bad experience they are more likely to give a review. There are many moms who take their kids to them that love them. I trust this business and encourages all to visit, and meet the team. They are loving and care so much for the kids.
