During my time at this primary school, from kindergarten to year 6, I had several experiences that I will share.

One issue I noticed is that there seemed to be a lot of favoritism at the school. For example, one of my friends was taken out of class to be rewarded with a room full of lollies, while other students who worked hard were overlooked. Another example is when the school had a rule against celebrating student birthdays, only to break that rule for certain students and even give them gifts. It felt unfair that some kids were singled out for special treatment while others were ignored.

I witnessed some kids being favorited by teachers for reasons that didn’t relate to their learning performance. It often felt like some students were chosen because they were related to the teacher or were good at talking behind other students’ backs. This caused an unhealthy environment in the classroom, and it felt like teachers weren’t taking the time to understand their students.

One teacher, Mrs Taylor, had a negative impact on me and other people who agreed with me. In year three, I was frequently singled out by Mrs Taylor, who would call on me even when I didn’t know the answer and make fun of my struggles in front of the other students, yelling at me and saying “God give me strength.” Because I couldn’t understand what was happening and was physically stressed. Instead of picking a different student to answer, she’d always pick me. I was like her personal punching bag. Her behaviour was humiliating and caused me a lot of anxiety over the years.

It got to the point that every time class started with her, I couldn’t focus on anything but feel so nervous getting picked by Mrs Taylor. I also remember feeling unsupported by teachers when I faced bullying from peers, with little done until the situation escalated into fights.

During a particularly difficult class period, I became overwhelmed and emotional, making me leave the classroom without permission to collect myself. However, when returning to the classroom, I was met with anger and a lack of understanding from Mrs Taylor and Ms Eagles. I started to cry again when Ms Eagles was talking to me, and she said, “Stop crying.” And not in a comforting way. My friends even told me when I left the classroom, Mrs Taylor was furious, yelling, “WHERE IS SHE.” That woman is never calm, I swear.

It was unacceptable for both of them as teachers to respond to a student’s emotional distress in such a careless manner. It’s important that educators show an understanding of emotional needs for their students.

I feel that this school was not the most welcoming or nurturing environment for students. While everyone’s experience is different, I cannot recommend sending a child to this school.

Edit: I remember more stuff from this school. I was taught not to defend myself to bullies and got punched in the face by a kid, my brother with a learning disability came here and was treated badly by teachers because of his lack of understanding, a friend of mine also had a problem with Mrs Taylor, saying Mrs Taylor made her cry aswell, and in year three I had a speech problem and Ms Eagles would take time to hear me read books. When I read books outloud, she pretended to fall asleep and say, “That was the most boring reading I’ve heard.” That was very disgusting to say to a child learning how to read outloud. It left me feeling hurt. I’ve never seen both of these teachers treat anyone else like this but me. Another time was when I desperately needed to go to the bathroom, but Mrs Taylor kept saying no. When I kept begging, she said, “No. Stop. Are you in pre-school? Stop acting like a baby.” I’m surprised this woman still has her job. Students who had her as a teacher can relate they don’t like Mrs Taylor, and it isn’t just me.

Good school from my sons experience
My son was bulied then suspended for fighting back this school’s a joke they encourage kids not to stand up for them selfs don’t send your kids here unless u want them 2 get builed
Such a bad school they close all the gate your not allowed to go in on picking up your kids they make the kindergarten kids come by their selfs to the gate didnt like it
If someone ask me about HPPS for 2 years ago , I would like to tell them : ” it’s very good school , the teacher are great ” . But now there is so bad , bad communication between teachers and parents , especially their principal, she is terrible lady I ever met . She looks like she is high education and treating with parents as she doesn’t like as slight .
I hearded a lot of complaints from parents as me but they didn’t public complaints just talk together and they were change school for their kids .
Bad experience education , they started program open class for whole school . That’s mean 1 big class with 60 students under 2 teachers look after them , I’m not pretty sure how can they teach our children ??? But the principal is proud of her program with the NAPAN results as band 4 .
I wanted to change school for my kids about 2 terms before but my kids asked me for stay until at the end of year , now I’m so glad to pull out my kids before principal treatment my kids as bullying as she can do . Bye bye HPPS , bye terrible principal !!!!
