The progress my 15 year old has made since attending I Can Do It Learning, is amazing. The staff have done everything they can to understand and support him. This is not an easy process with an autistic teen who has hardly left the house since COVID due to high anxiety.

He now attends regularly and is taking a GCSE this year, along with his peers.

The staff have taken time to understand our whole family situation, including his brother’s needs, even though only my one of my children are on role.

I feel heard and understood also, which makes so much difference after years of battling in mainstream education.

The quiet individual approach has been perfect for my son, and any ups and downs due to his situation or staff changes have been navigated really successfully.

I’m so grateful that ICDIL is part of our journey as a family.

My 14yr old daughter has been at ICDIL from the very beginning, when as a 9yr old she sat in Allie’s house recieving a little tuition after leaving the school system. She said “I want to be somewhere with other children like me. Somewhere that doesn’t remind me of school and where the teachers treat you like a human being and don’t just give you worksheets to do”.
Fast forward five years and here we are! This wonderful provision has evolved around her and has been created with love and the belief that every child, especially those with neurodivergence or SpLD have a place where they feel like they belong. She’s gone from a child who had been utterly failed by school, who mistrusted adults, was phobic of being taught and who would barely leave the house – to a young lady who is thriving and beginning to think of her future. She has a wonderful team of staff around her who she engages with, she learns at her own pace and learns to her own interests. A friend’s mum commented “What that place has done for that girl is nothing short of extraordinary” and I couldn’t agree more. We will be forever grateful to Allie and everyone around her that has made this happen.
