The school is not friendly for the queer students. I send my child for dual enrollment in the medical program and I just learned kids under dual enrollment the school does not take the responsibility over the kids? my kid just told me that they were told by the staff that kids under dual enrollment have to leave the school and then come back to catch the bus, how stupid is that?
When I went through high school and the dual enrollment program I was taken to an actual university in 10th, 11th and 12th grade to take courses and graduate with an associates in my field. this school apparently their dual enrollment is strictly online. this does not provide the college experience kids like my need. I am extremely upset and will be contacting the school of this happening. if nothing is done I will be removing my child from the school. I will give it points that the vice principal Pienkta what ever issues I had with the school or what ever issues my child had with any particular teacher she handled it from beginning to end until a positive conclusion was achieved. I truly felt valued as a parent and I felt my child was really counted as a student. The teachers I had to have meetings with for what ever issues were polite, mindful and helped me understand them and I helped them understand my child and where my child comes from.
I am sad to look for another school and pull my child out because I really wanted my child to finish his entire high school in this school. I was expecting for my child to graduate with an associates from this high school.
Thanks to the teachers and the staff of Inlet Grove, our son has grown up so much academically and as a young man since he started 9th grade this school year. I believe that giving him an opportunity to skip 8th grade was the best decision for him. The beginning of the school year was a challenge for him. Especially for a boy coming from a very small school and who was afraid of changes. But having their support and the support of other students who went through the same experience helped the transition and made him feel acclimated in no time. All this and more proved their dedication and commitment to their students.
Like in most schools in the county, there are challenges coming from some students and sadly from the parents’ lack of involvement and support who expect for the school to do miracles, making it more difficult for the schools and I don’t blame them for that. But that doesn’t stop my son from enjoying his teachers and his classmates. As a matter of fact, we were considering moving him next school year to the high school near our house for transportation reasons, but he refused to do so. He said likes his school and that tells us a lot.
Once again, we want to thank the Administration, the entire staff and specially the outstanding teachers for their hard work and dedication and for making a positive overall impact not only in my son’s life but also the rest of the students.
