I would give this place no stars if possible. I understand student massages are not professional massages but the experience I had was horrible. I REPEATEDLY asked for firm pressure and to focus on my neck and back, but the student refused to use firm pressure and instead barely touched my skin and did nothing for my tight muscles and didn’t even touch my neck. Additionally, the student used BIOFREEZE on my entire body without asking instead of a regular massage oil/lotion so my skin was burning the entire time and for hours afterwards. Further, the room was FREEZING I was shivering the entire time and even asked for an extra sheet and was told there was none..and the Biofreeze made it worse. I also paid for a full hour massage and when I checked the clock at the “end” of my massage, there was still 15 minutes left of the hour and the student had left the room and was no where to be seen. I have tried to contract the school via telephone to report my experience and cannot reach anyone. Save your money and just get a professional massage elsewhere.
Integrative Bodywork School of Massage is the best! I was a student at the former Central Pennsylvania School of Massage and I still come by to get massages by the current students in the student clinic. Being a massage therapist myself, I am very picky with the massages I want to get. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad massage from the students at this school. They are taught to be very professional and give the best massages. All of the instructors are extremely knowledgeable at what they are teaching and are fantastic at what they do(you can even get massages from them in the professional clinic). No matter what you are looking to do, whether it be to get a massage or to be a student at the school, give them a call and talk to them. I promise you that you will not regret it.
