Coming from a student, this school is okay. Compared to public schools, this is a good alternative. However, I believe that they should reconsider the use of online curriculum. For example, I am not particularly fond of Imagine Math or other types of online homework. I personally prefer paper homework that relates to what we would be learning currently, while websites like Imagine Math have random lessons that can be very confusing. Another thing is bathrooms. There are several stalls in the girls restroom that have not functioned properly since the beginning of the year. I cannot repeat how emabarassing it is to be going to the bathroom while the stall suddenly opens in front of other classmates. Restrooms are also closed during 3rd period, which can create a struggle. And though the uniforms were convenient for the mornings, they seemed over priced and were ill fitted. Though, as I said before, this is a good alternative for middle school. They push a work ethic that I have seen surprise many kids here, and moved others from public schools out of their comfort zones. It also specifically depends on your child and how they function. This school was not wholly satisfying for me, but for others it was a comfortable match. This was also the first year, so of course there are kinks to be worked out. When it gets on it’s feet and rolling, I think it will be an acceptable option for the parents of Bryan/College Station, etc.
This is school and principal is the worst by far in the area! Today I had to pick my daughter up early for a procedure we had been waiting to get for 4 months, I left work at 2:45 and called the school, explained to them I was on my way to pick up my daughter for a dr apt they said they could not call her until I was there. Traffic was a little hectic, I made it to the school at 3:02, when I got there they refused to let me in and said the office closed at 3:00. I explained my situation and asked if they could please help me out, however they refused. I happened to see the principal behind the door and asked if they could please have him talk to me so I could explain the urgency of this appointment. Im standing a few feet away watching and listening and he tells them to tell me he is in a meeting or something! My daughter will not have to wait months longer for this procedure because they would not allow her to leave 2 minutes after 3! They absolutely do not care about the well-being of your children. The principal is not there to resolve anything or lookout for his students
