I meant to write this review a while back but life has been hectic (sorry its long but I want to give my honest opinion of the school). My daughter started going to IMHOC at 18 months, she is 4 years old now. Transferring her to this school has been the best choice I could’ve ever made for her. Her teachers are incredible, she is learning a lot, she gets home in the evenings and talks about the different things that she has learned during the day, things I could not have known at 4 years old. She’ll have a discussion about the planets in our Solar System, she’ll list all the continents, she told me that Alaska was the biggest state (here I am thinking it was Texas, the shame). The big highlight is, she CAN READ, did I mentioned that she’s only 4? Not just memorizing pages, she recognizes the words and sounds out the letters. I would’ve attach a clip to this review but it only allows for pictures.

Her current teacher Ms. Ambreen and former teacher Ms Aline are true gems, I could not have been more pleased to have these wonderful women help teach my child everything she knows. I’m mentioning these two ladies because they are/were her primary teachers but Ms Sathya who now helps Ms. Ambreen and all the other teachers that works there are all amazing.

Let’s talk about Covid, I think the school shut down for about 2 months during the peek of Covid, I can’t remember exactly the length of time they were closed, but they resumed operations in mid June I think. My daughter has been back for about 3 months now and they have had no cases. The cleaning regiment and the safety protocol implemented is beyond anything I could’ve imagined. First, no parent is allowed inside the building, the teachers come outside to get the kids out of the cars, all the teachers wear masks, they spray the bottom of the shoes and sanitize the hands of each child upon entry, backpacks are left outside and sprayed first before being taken inside. At pick up, I either call the school to let them know I am outside or send a text message on their Brightwheel app to let them know I am outside and they bring my daughter to my car. One of the Friday’s, I went to pick up my daughter, we were still in the parking lot and all of the parents came and left, we were the only car still in the parking lot. My daughter decided that she needed to use the bathroom and driving home was not feasible without her having an accident, so, we rang the doorbell, Jennifer came and opened the door, she had on gloves and was in the midst of cleaning and sanitizing (she’s the CEO), the teachers were wiping down and spraying down the windows and tables. Seeing that, made me realize that although my motivation for sending her was primarily for her mental health, it was even more reassuring to myself that I have made the right choice. Seeing how much effort and time the WHOLE team at IMHOC puts in to make sure that every child was safe, is peace of mind on another level and for that I am grateful, and that’s why I will be sending all of my kids to this school until they are too old to attend.

My daughter that is 2 started IMHOC in the beginning of this year for her very first time in a school setting. The amount of love, compassion, and learning material that she has experienced is more than I can have expected. When my wife and I were looking for a Montessori School we contacted the school within a short period of time the owner Jennifer Weerasuria contacted us and made us feel so welcomed, all of our questions were answered in such a way where we felt like this place was the one for our baby girl. What made this decision easy for us and what caught our eye was how long the Teachers have been there ranging from 3-13 yrs and how peaceful they were. After a short few months Covid-19’ hit, our daughter was offered virtual classes to keep in contact with her teachers and Jennifer went above and beyond to keep a safe environment and clean environment for her IMHOC family. In that time We could see how much IMHOC meant to our daughter always asking to go to school and asking about her friends. I definitely recommend everyone to experience what our daughter has experienced. There’s no better feeling to receive daily pictures on Brightwheel to know what she is doing and how she is progressing. We thank her teachers for having the heart and patience they do to make our day easy.
