IS 49 got trashed. The entire outside of the school looks like a paper factory that exploded. Mr D runs like a little girl he is the biggest sissy that I ever saw. The teachers were having a nervous breakdown as the students trashed the outside of the school. Remember if you ever need a supply of weed this is the school to find it in.
These teachers in IS 49 are a joke but be very careful of the paraprofessionals. Two of them were arrested for selling drugs when school first started but now I hear there are five other Paras that also sell weed so keep your eyes open parents.

It was disclosed to.me by my son Colin’s best friends father that all of Colin’s teachers called him and informed him of Colin’s grades. I’m.curious is it possible for a school and their teachers to tell an individual who is not even the parent a child’s grades? I’m wondering isn’t their HIPA laws that come into.play here? My wife and I had to wait till the last day of school to find out my son’s grades. Meanwhile this guy who is not even the father of my son gets a phone call from each of my son’s teachers as to what grade he got in each class. Wow this is something that needs to be investigated because not once did I give permission for this to take place.
Parents this school needs to be monitored by.the Board of Ed very closely because there are so much laws being broken by teachers and administration.
Despite other reviews, I’ve never seen drugs in school. Smoking in the bathrooms? Never seen it as the teachers had such strict rules about the bathroom and who goes in/out and when they can go in and out. This could’ve been enforced because of the ‘drug-use within the bathroom’ claims, but in my time of being there, not once had I smelled/seen drugs. However, I remember at one point in 8th grade, a student cutting class came to harass an older teacher Mrs.Trombetta. I’d say the woman must be laid off or something, she’s so strict and ruthless that she makes a lot of students resent her. Including me, I’ve had my fair share of strict teachers, but she was truly like no other. She’d often make me despise entering her class as I felt a single thing I did upset her.
I give two stars, out of being generous. As most of the students I met were awful people. Not everyone of course, but I do remember situations in 7th grade, where I had to file a police report because of a “friend” of mine stealing my personal belongings! I also once had gotten threatened to get beat up by a guy and his friends because I wouldn’t do something really trivial. Anyway, don’t go to this school.
Also drugs. Lots of drugs. A lot of kids smoke and sell weed.
There are metal detectors 2 or more times a week which means your kids won’t be able to have a cell phone and your only way of contacting your child is to call the school. The teachers on the other hand are mostly very cool and respectful. If I had a kid I wouldn’t send him/her to this school
