My daughter is a sixth grader in this school. They give a reasonable amount of homework in this school. My daughter actually learns in her ELA and math classes, although I feel as if common core math and math enrichment in her schedule are a little TOO much. The teachers have reasonable knowledge and teach the kids what they know. The guidance counselors are pretty good at their jobs and help the kids. Many kids graduate on time with acceptable grades. No kids smoke here, but children using their phones in the bathroom is a serious issue that needs to be investigated more. ID cards that are needed to be worn EVERY day are a bit ridiculous, and students get detention when they are caught without one (even though sixth graders have it less harsh than the older students.) Finally, I feel as though kids shouldn’t be threatened with no visiting and outside time just because of 10 people out of 500 kids. That isn’t really fair. But, otherwise this is a great school.
I’m going to graduate this school year and I personally think that this school is good for hard working and dedicated students. The teachers here all have good intentions and although some may seem harsh or mean, they care about your education. As long as you do your work, you won’t have a problem with them. This school has great talent teachers that push the students to do their best. The school itself is always kept in good condition. The school also gives many opportunities to the students such as art contests, shows(for drama, dance, instrumental, and vocals), science Olympiad and more.
Although some students at the school aren’t as nice as others, if you avoid them your good to go! So for sixth graders, don’t go in thinking that the school will be a walk in the park or that all the people are pure, just go in with a clear mind and positive attitudes.
if im being entirely honest this school is not.. a very good place to be if u are a bipoc student who isnt cis and/or straight, and i mean that. also if ur one who values ur safety LOL…. they dont take care of actual issues.. like at all. the faculty makes it obvious they don’t value the safety of their students of color, because if they did, they wouldnt be trying to pin stuff on them and demonize them (literally. its scary. it also usually stems from racial stereotyping.) for reporting stuff that happened to them concerning their safety. they might even try to punish you because they don’t want to deal with it. all they care about is their reputation and being the best school. also this place does not rlly have the best cleanliness. anyways datz my review from my own experiences, if u value ur wellbeing this place is not the place for u!!!
