I loved my time at SUNY JCC during my 3 year tenure. I originally enrolled on the Olean campus with an Individual Studies degree. however, I did not enjoy that campus and I wanted something bigger and better for myself. During my spring break that year, I toured the campus and fell in love. I changed my degree to Media Arts and August that year I moved to the dorms. My roommates were not the best to at the least but I had amazing professors and the classes actually taught me life skills. My last year I moved to the West building and got a whole set of new roommates and we became best friends. I loved being able to walk only 5 mins to my classes each morning and the Artworks department was amazing. I loved on weekends it was always open and I always was able to get my graphic design or video projects done without stressing. The people you meet and the professors were just amazing. They always carried for you and if you had trouble, they were always there. I also attended a study abroad trip that summer to Japan and I had a Wonderfull time! I graduated last May with my degree and now I am interning at a local business in my hometown!
People might give JCC a bad rep but, I loved the school. How small it was and the class sizes.
This school is very biased when it comes to work study jobs. Don’t come here looking for a word study job unless your a INTERNATIONAL student or a athlete. In addition the ladies in the business office are very rude and nasty. The ladies in the financial aid office don’t have no knowledge, I don’t know why they even work there. Residence life is super boring. They try to do actives but their just childish and tacky. It would be better if they did activities outside a campus. This school also didn’t give me no type of scholarship even though I had over a 3.5 gpa. Only good thing I could say about this school is the professors are semi decent and some of the staff is caring. Another than that please don’t come here or even waste your time.
