This school is absolutely horrid. I went there for all 3 years of middle school, I’m now almost a junior in high school. The office workers are very snobby and rude, and honestly so are 95% of the other teachers. There was once an incident where i had to call my father about a teacher who was making fun of me (keep in mind, i was in 7th grade and bawling my eyes out) and when i went to the office to report the incident, they instead took my phone and marked my card because I’m not supposed to be on my phone even though the teacher is very well known to let the kids on them. The principal does absolutely nothing and the only people that really look out for you are the guidance counselors. Honestly I suggest sending your kids to Jewett school of the arts or making the drive to another middle school. Another incident, they decided to have a “school shooting drill” and instead of informing the teachers and parents per usual they did not inform anybody. They told us we were on high security lock down, they (resource officers and admin) then proceeded to bang on our classroom doors as if they were intruders , we were absolutely traumatized and alot of us were calling our parents to say goodbye in fear of loosing our lives.
Now SOME teachers are not caring enough about their students to the point where they are saying stuff about their families to other students behind their back, while some are just quit uneducated at their job by either actually loosing papers or not putting grades in till the end of the quarter. The disciplinary system is completely out of order by not putting the students through the right form of due process as the code of conduct says, and neglecting to actually listen to the students. The uniform is overly implied such as if you shorts are higher than two inches above your knee to wearing khaki colored pants rather than actual khakis. What is the difference besides the material come on now. Overall if you send your child to this school take it from an 8th grader that can’t wait to get out of the school. Don’t send them here let’s face it, there is something wrong if the most recent reviews are all bad.
First of all, the ladies in the office 99% of the time have an attitude when you walk in, like ok it’s the job YOU chose to do. There is absolutely 0 communication when something happens at that dump. Jewett school of the arts is 10 tines better than this place. They don’t even have a working principal right now. Also teachers telling kids that they’ll need to shave their head if they don’t fix their hair. But NO email or letter to mom or dad about it. Oh did I mention how unsanitary this school is?
