Very disappointed with management and would never be an instructor here

I recently did my work practice here for almost 6 weeks to be signed of as a swimming instructor

I was made to feel like this job may not be for me, by management and the assessing teacher/ teachers

I’m dyslexic and have learning difficulties and when I would say some comments about what I was being taught because I couldn’t understand and felt i was doing it correctly with the knowledge i have of swimming their voices raised at me and no help was really given to improve my knowledge of becoming a swimming instructor for you only really have 3 months to do so and hand paperwork in.

I had to leave and do 2 weeks with the education department just to pass and almost didn’t complete because of the disgusting treatment I was given here at jump baldivis
Being made to feel or being told that I’m rushing this and other comments were not uplifting

I also recently went in and spoke to the front desk staff for management was not available and I felt a face to face would be better for what I was about to request. I ask for a written letter to help me pass my hours for none of my paper work was ever signed by any for the teachers I did hours with which made it difficult for me to show I was competent.

I also had AUS swim pushed in my face for a choice royal life saving to do my ticket.

Also this is something you don’t get paid for its all voluntary for myself to complete and I feel I wanted to complete at the best of my ability so I try and attend most days.

The children and parents were amazing letting me watch and even teach the children so I could improve my child teaching skills for this not easy meeting children from all walks of life.

I didn’t want to have to do this but I haven’t heard back after my request for this letter to help to pass, I had to go to royal life saving in Perth to discuss this matter.

My daughter loves it here – she looks forward to her lesson each week. The staff are lovely and so friendly, and we are always greeted with smiles. We absolutely recommend having your child to learn to swim here.

The staff are amazing; always going above and beyond for us to accommodate our schedule etc.
The instructors and facilities are great too.

We were are another Jump! Waiting for this one to open. I am glad we came across. Not only closer to home. Staff are great, friendly and helpful. I have and will continue to recommended Jump! Baldivis to people.
