DO NOT! come to this school for the medical assistant program if J. Rivera is the instructor. Mrs. Rivera was very unorganized, unprofessional, racist, male favoring, rude, homophobic, belittling, used extremely inappropriate/vulgar language about body parts and abused her power. She was so unorganized that we didn’t get to master many skills that are NEEDED to be successful as a medical assistant. My class took all of our negative experiences and informed the office/the principal they spoke to her and all she gave us was an empty “apology” that started with “I apologize but”. We have been informed by multiple people that took courses with her in different places all the way back from 2008 to 2023 that she has always had these tendencies and is continuing teach these medical assistant programs, highschoolers included. Along with that the class was supposed to be informed by Rivera about where we were going to be placed for externships and the course is over and that is still not the case. I thought this would be a great opportunity but now my class is leaving here 8 months later no placement, undereducated, and $250 less dollars.

UPDATE: The instructor has been change! Thank you to Dr. Montanez, Ruth and other staff for doing the work behind the scenes, making us feel heard, and getting us closer to the finish line. Thank you Miss Pope for stepping up, handling the externships on short notice and putting the program on the course it was meant to be on.

You get what you pay for; may offer good prices but DONT GO HERE! They have a very unprofessional system and staff. The principal canceled our MA class last minute. The teacher, Mrs. Rivera, wasted her students’ time. We thought we’d have our CMA by the end of summer but now a lot of my former classmates are stuck finding jobs or something else to do LAST MINUTE because we’ve planned to come to Jurupa since August 2023. She was a hypocrite (made US learn about professionalism), barely taught us any hands-on work (mostly book work), was super inappropriate and was the most unprofessional and unorganized “teacher” ever.

DO NOT TAKE THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT CLASS !!! It’s isn’t worth your time , you’re not able to take your CMA exam which a lot of jobs prefer you to have because of injections & etc ….. the class doesn’t meet the requirements! The teacher Ms.Rivera lied to the MA students letting them think that they could take the CMA exam but in the end of the school semester they found out they couldn’t. A lot the students feel like they wasted their time ! & regret it . Horrible experience , the staff is uneducated on this matter as well. They need to put that information on their website.
