Former teacher at Parkside Prep. While I loved engaging with the students and school community, I ultimately left because of poor leadership. On several occasions I brought safety concerns to the principal related to bullying and fighting and I was told that I could not suspend students with disabilities. As a current researcher, I now know that leadership was unaware of what a manifestation determination is and how it should be carried out. This schools inadequately renders special education services, has a very high turnover of teachers, and puts on a show (or tourist curriculum) when visitors are in the building. If you’re wondering why the school surveys do not align to my account, the principal tells staff that she knows who puts bad reviews and since everyone is scared of her, they either don’t complete them or lie. I would not send my children here.
Absolutely terrible. Students are allowed to do as they please with no consequences (hence the reason the other positive reviews are students trying to attend). The principal does not believe in discipline and prides herself on low suspensions, which in turn leads to a dangerous learning environment for students and teachers, alike. The leadership program is okay, but if your child is not in that program…

My daughters went to this school for the after- school program & also were in the summer program & as a parent that like to be involved to see first hand what goes on around my daughters I could say that it’s a safe & clean place. The people that might not like it might be cause there kid (s) were miss-behaving , but I’ve never had a problem for the 2-3 years I was there with my girl & the Staff was very respectful with every1. I loved it. God bless!
