My daughter is in 5th grade and has attended this school since kindergarten. Every single one of her teachers have been amazing! I have been able to call/text them at any time about anything. They were all very involved and informed me of any concers as well as letting me know when my daughter was doing great! Communication has been excellent. My daughter was bullied pretty badly by some boys, and it got real ugly one day after school, off campus. They threatened to beat her up, follow her home and threatened my whole family..thankfully her best friend was a boy tall for his age and unafraid, because he steppedvin between and they backed off..but were still yelling. His grandma and I both called and left messages with the principal. By 9am, I had received a call by the principal that the boys were suspended, had to check in at Juvinile Hall, the police were contacted and the incident was reported to them, and it was put their school records as well. They truly have no tolerance for bullying. The lunches could be much better..they are quite disgusting, but that’s the government’s issue, not the school’s.
The last time I attended this school was the 2013-14 year and this school is amazing, since I am now a freshman in highschool I’m looking back at all the great times I had in this school,I was one of the low income students when I came here from Iraq at the age of 5 and all the teachers did an amazing job helping me get comfortable with my peers and teaching me English. For whoever is going to this school you’ll like it! Shout out to my teachers Mrs bassie,Ms gallein, and especially Mrs George.
