What you were wearing was more important than your education. Same problem at Highland hills middle school. My Hischool son was in a class that he really enjoyed and the were discussing the a poem called The Road Less traveled. The kids were troublesome and disrespectful of each other so my son got up , left the room and came home. In middle school My son argued with a teacher defending his friend, got a step 4 and sent home until he apologized to the teacher. He said he would apologize when She apologized to his friend in front of the class just as she’d castigated him. The teacher was unwilling to apologize so it was a draw and my son went back to school. Then one day he was sent home for wearing “gang colors” my son is as wonder white bread as as the come. No gang affiliation
white, back 1, Brown or yellow . But was sent home for wearing a blue Levi jacket,’ Levi jeans and a white tee shirt. So like I said clotting is more important to kennewick School district than education.
Went to my nephews (Dane # 3 and Dierks Chavez #14) varsity games last night, and all the teams played very well!! This is my old high school, and man, does it look different? It looks so good!! The courts are beautiful and very well taken care of. The restrooms were also very nice and clean, although if i had to give one suggestion, it would be too poor hooks in the stolls to hang your purse or in my case bag. Other than that, it was VERY nice and very nice people everywhere i turned!! Oh, and one more thing, very big, nice concession stand the food smelled fabulous!
Easily the most accepting school in the entirety of the Tri-Cities. The instructors are fantastic, the curriculum is challenging and the courses are so diverse. I know KHS has a reputation, but you really shouldn’t believe everything you hear. I had attended SHS as well and it was honestly the worst experience of my life. KHS has a great opportunity for sports, there’s so many extracurricular clubs and activities that all have positive effects on the school and community. You’ll never feel isolated.
