I was hesitant to write this review because my son did enjoy his time here at school for the most part. There were a few days when he was hesitant to go and cried, but I passed that off as normal 3 year old behavior. I realized now that it wasn’t. First of all, I never felt that I was treated like other parents. I would get there first sometimes and they would get other parents children before me. Second, one day I was picking up my son and I noticed right away a few scratches and bruise by his eye (even with the mask on) I immediately asked what happened and the lady handing me my son was confused. She went back to the classroom to talk to the teachers. I could see them from the camera in the front desk and they seemed to be going back and forth and it took a while to get me an answer. Even then I was told he must have fallen outside. We attempted a meeting and it didn’t sit right with me but my husband was satisfied with it so we kept taking him. My breaking point was when they tried to give me another child! I asked for my son by his full name, the lady in the front (didn’t normally see her in the front) brought a brown skinned child ( I am brown but my son looks white/tan) and when I told her that this child wasn’t my son she had the audacity to ask me if I was sure! I was so shocked I just responded that I was sure. I stopped taking him and didn’t even think to ask for a refund. I just let them take my deposit.
Our son has been enrolled at Kiddie Academy since he was about 6 months old. This was our first experience with a day care provider and we were nervous to trust anyone else with our child. We have felt comfortable with Kiddie Academy and all the teachers and staff there every day. My son is now a year and a half and is excited to put on his coat in the morning to go to school. He is learning a ton and we get daily reports and pictures throughout the day of the different activities they do. Teri, the director, is always quick to get back to emails or phone calls throughout the day and has even called when my son is sick just to see how he is feeling (which means a lot to a first time mother!). He has had a few bumps and bruises from playing and just being a kid and the teachers have called me during the day to let me know what happened and that he was fine but wanted to let me know. They will also review an incident report with me when I pick him up. My wife and I would recommend Kiddie Academy!
I am appalled by the unprofessional behavior exhibited by Kiddie Academy Batavia. Not only did the staff display racism towards myself and my child, but they also misled me about their availability for enrollment. When I inquired about openings, they told me that they had spots available. However, the very next day, they informed me that they could not take my child at this time. This inconsistency in their communication only added to my frustration and disappointment. Overall, my experience with Kiddie Academy Batavia was unacceptable, and I strongly advise against considering them for your child’s care.
