I would like to mainly inform future employees as well as parents and potential future parents of the dysfunctional work culture of Kiddie Academy South campus. The main focus will be on the treatment of employees and how that can be effective towards the children and their parents. As their turnover rate is extremely high, you may question, is it the employees or is it management? Considering that there are cases of unpredictable employees, with a turn over rate as high as Kiddie Academys, my answer is management. I have witnessed second hand bullying from management in multiple incidents, as well as heard from other employees who are too job scared to come forward about uncomfortable situations that they have been put in due to management. I have seen an employee get yelled at to the point of tears and leaving over an issue that had nothing to do with that person. Another employee who had a child attending the facility had stated that they were made to stay at the job while their child carried a temperature of 102-103 degrees fahrenheit. There is also childish behavior that comes from management when giving notice that you are leaving the job, such as, throwing your printed notice away in the trash in front of you, or telling you how disappointed they are and you may never return back, and changing your hours and/or class abruptly. It is understood that people face these behaviors and unfairness at other jobs as well, does not mean they should not be held accountable. An employee had brought to management’s attention that another employee had a vape which fell out of their pocket and a child had picked the vape up. Meanwhile the employee who was carrying the object, that is not allowed on premises, faces no consequences, the employee that brought it to their attention had eventually gotten fired. The logic made no sense to me either. Pointing out unfairness, there are reasonable rules which do not apply to everyone. No outside food or drink can be shown in the facility, we must have our own containers without any logos. That is fine, but why doesn’t that rule apply to everyone, especially management? Now it has been stated from one of the administrators that they receive daily free lunches from their choosing of restaurants supported by the company. Well if we cant have outside food or drink showing, why can they shovel their faces with company bought food every day? Why can some employees walk out on their shift multiple times facing no consequences while others can’t? Why are some employees allowed to call out and/or leave short notices for days off without any consequences while others cant? Lastly, the pay. The expectation of wanting an employee to do more work without any raises. When asking for a raise, their response is what more are you doing and so does everyone else. They expect some employees to do lesson planning which is considered Lead Teacher responsibilities while not raising their pay, while some employees are offered more pay. It was noted in an email that to become Lead Teacher you must take a class, of course that happens to not apply to everyone.
I love the camera system and it doesnt lag at all. Renee has been a great class leader. I feel like she truly cares about my daughters well being. I havent really met the other instructors, but whenever Ive been logged in they seem great too. Also, the front desk staff are very accommodating. I know I havent been the easiest parent with my obsession about my daughter not eating certain foods and drinking water that is purified from home, but they have been willing to work with me every step of the way. Also, initially my daughter was sick a lot which was frustrating but the front desk lady (forget her name, brown hair and glasses) assured me that this always happens to kids when they first start and that after a few months (month and a half in my case), the children are fine and almost never need to be picked up. This was absolutely true in my case and I havent had to pick up my child at all. I appreciate how honest the front desk was about this and how they didnt just brush off my concerns as a parent. I know kiddie academy is expensive, but worth every penny knowing my child is being cared for and that if I ever have issues, they will be addressed by all members of the staff.
