2013: so far so good … I am so happy and grateful to have my son attend such a school … we are 1st year 5th graders … KIPPsters ROCK!

UPDATE: my child’s sixth grade year was the last year at the school. I had to pull him out and now he’s in cyber school. He got chemical pneumonia as a result of working on the background set for a play without the proper ventilation. The doctor said that, because he was painting in an area that did not have proper ventilation, he contracted chemical pneumonia. When I let the school know about it, they immediately got on the defensive and treated me poorly. I was only wanting to let them know just in case other children had coughs that didn’t go away, they would know what to do. They lied and said that the paint used was water-based and non-toxic, but that wasn’t true because his school uniform was permanently stained with paint.

However, that was not the reason why I pulled my child out of the school. There was a science teacher named Mr. Oladuwa that had some unscrupulous teaching techniques. The one that infuriated us the most was the fact that he would use a spray bottle filled with water to spray children to get their attention. Apparently, one day, he sprayed my son directly in the eye. This was a dealbreaker. This teacher had also done some horrible things before this, but this act was the worst. The principal did nothing because of the high priority for teacher retention. We toughed it out for the rest of the year, but it was actually a blessing in disguise. Online cyber school has been a game changer. I am so happy that, because of the unfortunate things that happened at Kipp, we were introduced to the great opportunity of online school. We love Georgia Cyber Academy.

We really loved this school, but it didn’t love us back. And, outside of the things that I mentioned, it was awesome.

Our family is so grateful for this school. While searching for a quality education we tried the Waldorf school then a Montessori school and even homeschooling. Each of these carried a high cost of money or time. It wasn’t until we found KIPP that my child received the help needed and began to thrive in all areas. The first year was difficult, but during that year my child told me “Thanks mom for putting me into a real school.” KIPP is a family and a way of life. If you partner with the school and learn to embrace the KIPP way, your child will benefit and be prepared for Highschool. I know for a fact that my child has received the highest quality education at no cost to me. If you are offered a placement for your child at KIPP South Fulton Academy you would be wise to accept it. (Each year the waitlist gets longer)

Kipp is one of the worst schools because the teachers LOVE to sit up and talk about students on GroupMe. Mr.O likes to be a bully, threaten kids, and change up his stories around parents such as the others.Teachers act as if they are overgrown children. Kids have uniform but the teachers walk around with panties/thongs, bras , behind, and breast showing but dont say one word about it.The principal is more worried about profiling than the school. Kids are always going home talking about how the teachers diss them and doubt tgem in front of the entire class. I
would higly advise you not .
