It’s difficult because I understand that his warfare is heavy and almost unbearable, but i was taught that it takes pressure to make diamonds. Disclaimer: I am the Mother posting on the fathers page. However, when my son first attended John A. Bannes it wasn’t to bad, I heard the names that he was called as I was signing him up and this is nothing but a prelude to what parents are still feeding their children concerning other races. He was called (dark turkey, skin burnt, ect…)
However, my issues are not only with the heavy burden of enduring inflicted racism from students but the teachers who overlook or are unable to reach or teach my child. My son has come home w/t unfair anologies pertaining to white and black and how one is seen as rich while the other viewed as poor. I’ve walked into the PTO book sales and picked up a book about how a little black child wanted to be white. I was furious after reading that book and requested for that book to be removed so that children wouldn’t take an interest.
These schools need a real lesson, even a teaching on diversity while they are yet young. Thoughts and perspectives are shaped while children are young. Diversity needs to start there. Every school that my son has ever ever ever attended he has always been given accolades dud to his promising attitude, but it clearly shows when teachers don’t have your child’s best interest, they began to fall by the waste-side and not the winning side.
Apart from all that is unseemly going on in my son’s life, the parties that are formulated and the different activities that the students have are amazing and exciting, but more and more children of different backgrounds are coming, I suggest that these schools get equipped for the road ahead. -God will have his final say.
