The KISD Transportation is horrible. We got a schedule for our son’s stop at the beginning of the year and the bus was supposed to be there at 6:36 am. For a while it did show up at that time. Then it started showing up later and sometimes even earlier. The times tend to range from 6:36 to 7:00 to (this morning) 7:16 am. I called and spoke with a lady at the transportation office, who didn’t seem to want to resolve issue. She just wanted to pawn the responsibility off on the parents to monitor an app every morning. That is one way to do it, but parents have to work and can’t stick around all morning while waiting on a bus that is sometimes 40 minutes late. It is getting colder in the morning and the kids shouldn’t be outside waiting for 40 minutes. Their number one excuse is “we are short drivers”. They have been short drivers since my son was in Kindergarten, and he is now in the 5th grade. What are they doing about being short? If they have drivers that are driving multiple routes then keep them on the same routes and change the time to the new time so everyone can get picked up on a regular time. Again, parents have to work as well. Our job is just as important as yours is. There is a solution for this (as stated above) instead of playing musical bus routes. Do better KISD Transportation.

Everyday the bus is late, or delayed or rerouted. They did not have a bus for the off base high schoolers to be brought back on base last week and left our kids stranded at the school. Said we would need to just pick them up. Which obviously I did. But this isn’t ok. These are children and the people running this don’t seem to realize that. I have called and spoke to several different people when the bus just skipped out stops and dropped me kid off 2 miles from our house because they “didnt have time to complete the route”

Who ever is in charge of this department needs to be fired. Yes Killeen, Tx KISD Transportation Department Director/Supervisor needs to be fired. Why are kids on buses with no a/c? Why do buses run so late? Why are kids being transported to a different school just to wait for another bus that’s 20 to 30 minutes late? Horrible operations and planning. Whoever you are, you’re definitely over paid.
