We are disappointed. Our son went to this Academy. When he was done he only had 180 something flight hours. In order to fly for anyone most are requiring over 1500 flight hours. Our son now has a $1200 a month student loan, he’s single so he can’t live on his own and had to move and come live with us. because he can’t get a job in the industry to pay his loans. He has a decent job but it’s not enough to live on his own and pay those high student loans. And to keep all his certifications up he needs to rent a plane pay for fuel pay someone to fly with him just to stay certified which can cost over $700 every 90 days. Because remember he can’t fly for anyone yet. now he has a 25 year loan and no way to pay it. Because no one will hire him with those low flight hours. L3 Harris does offer instructor jobs but the pay is too low for them to survive and pay rent and have a car and get back-and-forth to work and pay their student loans. And from what I’m told the instructors aren’t necessarily guaranteed full-time hours on top of that. I feel like they take your money and you have no way to succeed after you’re done there. I will share this information with other people. Not to be mean or vicious but, Because I don’t want it to happen to anybody else. It’s horrible our son feels terrible and we feel terrible. Now he doesn’t know what to do because he has this huge bill.L3 Harris if you have any good advice or help for our son please let me know.
As a former student, flight instructor and manager at L3 Harris Airline academy, let me say a few things.

Flight training is expensive, before you commit make sure you’ve set the conditions to be successful. You need the time, money and clarity in your life to focus 100% on your training. Take it seriously, show up when you’re scheduled and be prepared for the event. If you communicate with the instructors, managers and staff and exercise a little patience, you will have an excellent experience.

L3 Harris Airline Academy is the most diverse and inclusive environment I’ve ever worked in. Having over 30 years of military, defense and aviation industry experience that’s saying something. It may sound corny or cliche but I made a lot of good friends and met a lot of interesting folks in my time there.

There are a lot of schools around the country to choose from. If you’re serious about your training and committed to having a successful professional aviation career, L3 Harris Airline Academy is the place for you! No other school comes close to what they have to offer.

If you come to Google reviews to see how this school is then you’re in the right place.

Save your time , effort, money, and peace of mind and go to a different school. They sell you a big dream and show you how nice the school is and that they are there for you and blah blah it’s all
For the hefty price tag they want out of you. I had a great CFI Josh Nair which is what kept me at the school as long as I stayed. But between the treating emails to take money from your account and or rule changes constantly to line the schools pockets I couldn’t handle it anymore and decide it wasn’t a good fit for me to continue my flight school here. I’m a disabled VETERAN of the United States Army and had self paid for the school with my own money not a loan, and when I left the school was not told the remaining $5,000 in my school account would be taken away ? Yeah $5,000 from anyone is insane! But to take it from a Veteran that saved all his money up to attend a flying school that claims to be Veteran friendly, let me tell you that’s the absolute furthest from the truth….
