I cannot say enough great things about La Petite in Lee’s Summit. We began bringing our daughter to this school at 3 months old. She is now 16 months old. As a parent, it’s nerve wracking to make the child care decision. This is where your child will be spending a lot of their time, so of course it’s imperative that you’re able to trust that your child is getting only the best, and that they are well cared for and loved by the teachers and staff at the school. I can confidently say that we have received all that and so much more from this La Petite.
Vicki, the director, has years of experience in the industry and it’s evident from the way that she manages her school. All the the teachers are friendly and everyone greets us in the morning. Teachers from all of the classrooms know my daughter, even though they haven’t even had her yet! That makes me feel good. The assistant director, Alyssa, has been so helpful to us as well, always answering questions and providing additional information when needed. As for the teachers, it is evident that they are the lifeblood of this school. From infants on up, my daughter’s teachers have cared about her and been in tune with her needs. They know her well! They celebrate her and encourage her. They are great about monitoring and reporting developmental milestones, which are so fun to see! I know my daughter is learning a lot because she comes home with new skills and new words almost every day. They also have this fantastic new curriculum which allows the parents to see very detailed information & progress on their child’s development. Bottom line, La Petite is enabling my daughter to learn, grow, and just enjoy being a kid.
Operationally, this school is easy to access, has a large parking lot and you can also pay your tuition online. These are all conveniences that I appreciate. The menus are solid; they include fruits and vegetables at breakfast and lunch. The school is very clean. The building is newer and has lots of natural light which I believe is really important.
We have absolutely loved our experience at this La Petite and I emphatically recommend it to other parents looking for the best quality childcare.
I have 3 children that attend/have attended La Petite Academy since they were 12 weeks old. It’s the only daycare our family has ever used. The director has always been fabulous and any feedback or requests were taken seriously. The staff they hire are great quality, and it’s not unusual for any teacher from any classroom to stop one of my children in the hall for a hug or high-five. They have added high quality assistant directors through the years that have only enhanced our experience. Prices seem high but they are comparable to other daycare sites from my research and you can’t beat their hours of operation. The curriculum is excellent and my kindergartener already had most of the skills they taught in the first semester mastered before starting, in addition to enjoying daily arts/crafts/music. They transition smoothly from infant/toddler care to preschool and pre-k which is ideal for parents who have multiple siblings needing care at the same time. They work well with children of all energy and discipline levels and I have always been pleased with how they have handled my children. Although we don’t take advantage of this, they also offer several optional additional programs for enrichment throughout the year (dance class, karate kids, computer classes). Visits from librarians, other presenters, summer reading program, I could go on and on. We love La Petite and so do our kids!
I just pulled my daughter out of there yesterday.. she was going to the blue springs location and I loved them so much! We moved to Lees summit and they have been nothing but horrible. They dont follow the curriculum at all. My daughter was in the preschool 2 class and they didnt take her to the bathroom once. She would come home with full diapers and I thought maybe she had been drinking a lot of water. This Tuesday I put her in a different diaper than what I gave the school and it was not changed. Not once. I told the director (Donna) what was going on and she made it seem like it wasnt her fault that she was misinformed. Even though she should know everything about every kid in that school!! She is the director! She didnt seem to care at all when I brought it to her attention. On Wednesday, I sent my daughter again thinking they might actually have listened to me. They changed her diaper once in the 10 hours she was there and didnt take her to the bathroom to potty once. It is neglect and I hope to god that they get in trouble for this because I cant even imagine the other kids that have had to go through this as well. How can you not notice a child walking weird because her pull up is so full?? Pure laziness!!
