If I can leave zero stars I would. I am extremely disappointed in this place. I thought this place would be a good place for my 11 month old daughter, but I was dead wrong. She only attended for two weeks before I made the right decision to move her. When I originally went on my tour I was a bit skeptical, but the director Renee gave a good pitch. We agreed to put my daughter in the Infant 1 room because she was not yet walking, but then Renee decided to move her…not me the mother, but Renee. Once moved with the older kids who were more active and walking, my daughter got scratched from her eye to her cheek and that produced blood. 8 hours went by without a call notifying me of my daughter’s injuries. I found out when I went to the infant to pick her up. I asked Pamela (management) what happened and she didn’t even know, but yet she signed the report. She had to go find the accident report which the teacher didn’t even turn in. When I asked her why I wasn’t notified she told me that they are not required to notify parents of any injury unless it’s serious head trauma. I was appalled. She has no business being in the daycare business if she’s is that careless and does half work. I decided right then and there I was going to look into other daycare. This facility is so careless with their actions including their hygiene practices. My daughter was never sick a day in her life until she came here, but once she left she became better. Some of the teachers don’t even wash their hands after changing diapers or cleaning pee. I had a meeting with the director Renee the following week. When I arrived the door wasn’t even locked and secure (happened numerous times). I just walked right in without typing in the code. Renee of course apologized for everything including using ointment on my daughter without a medical form and seemed sincere. She later lied to licensing and told them that ointment was not applied on my daughter, but yet I was told by teachers that they did applied it. My opinion of Renee definitely changed after that. This place is disorganized and numerous times they misplaced and lost my daughter’s things. Often times I’d go home and items that don’t belong to her were in her bag. If they weren’t moving her from room to room then maybe they’d be able to keep track of her things better. I asked Renee about a refund since I prepaid for the whole month, but was removing my daughter after two weeks and she said she couldn’t issue one. That was another lie. I was informed by corporate and a few other people that would know that she could definitely offer me a refund and if she’s not it’s because she doesn’t it’s because she doesn’t want to. The teachers here (most of them) just seem to care about getting a paycheck. None of them seem happy (unless their around parents) and all look tired and overworked. I would not recommend this La Petite to anyone. The only updates I got throughout the day was when she ate, slept, and pooped. Once in awhile I’ll get a picture of her holding a toy. Go to the other one in Centreville which is much cleaner and the management are more on top of things. The other La Petite actually does activities with your kids instead of just watching them crawl around. Avoid this place if you have a younger baby and don’t want them sick all the time. Even if you have an older child, put them somewhere where they can learn and engage in activities. Put them somewhere with better management. The same mistakes they made with my daughter they got violations from the State previously. The majority of the teachers and one management have been there for between 6-10 years. I guess nothing has really changed. I’m much happier with my daughter’s new daycare and so is she. The head Director Renee comes off as friendly, but is extremely dishonest. She just tells you what you want to hear and so does the other management members. Her practices are also dishonest as well. She had told me to give her my card information for her to photo copy and keep on file. I’m just disgusted with this place and some of its staff.
One of the worst daycares my kids ever went to! If I could give zero stars I would. The Manager there had told me that my help from office for children had been canceled knowing i wouldn’t be able to afford the full price i had to leave. Then a few weeks later i get a letter from office for children saying that my help had been canceled due to my kids NOT going to the daycare anymore. So La Petite caused me to lose my help knowing i would have to go on a waiting list to get back the help. And all because my 3 year old had ADHD which I did not know at the time. I didn’t even know what that was until i took my kids to another daycare afterwards and the teacher suggested it to me. They just didn’t want to bother with my son anymore. Oh but not only does La Petite lie and not really care for your kids. They steal your kids things. I had left my daughter’s things in her class for 3 days. 3 days! When i went back to get them they told me that they had “thrown” her stuff away. I was really setup because one of the things i had left behind was a blanket that was handed down from my son to my daughter from when he was a baby. And to make things worse the assistant manager was my friend at the time. She didn’t even have the decency of holding it for me. And to think i had asked her to be my daughter’s godmother. Goes without saying she’s not and we are no longer friends. I do not recommend this place with their fake smiles and their cover ups. Yes they would cover for each other if you had an issue with something just so you wouldn’t call licensing. Like when my kids got hurt i wasn’t notified but if for instance my son had hurt someone else then i got a call. Hello my 3 year old son was under your care you should have been watching him. The teachers there seemed like the only reason they were there was for the paycheck not for the love of the kids. I would never recommend this location to anyone.
We’ve been with the La Petite Academy family for a few years now. I’ve watched my son grow through their program starting from Toddlers, Twos, and now into Preschool. La Petite Academy in general is a great daycare; but this location in Centreville really the best experience my family has had in a daycare setting.
We transferred in from another LPA location. The director, David, made the transition SEAMLESS. We were welcomed warmly, and from day 1 it has been nothing less than exceptional.
The all of the staff we have interacted with show genuine love and care for my son. One evening, they even called to make sure we were okay because they noticed we hadn’t picked our son up by our usual time. The other daycares we attended haven’t done that! I was really impressed. My son is always excited to see Mr. Brandon and Ms. Shamama – his two main teachers; but loves all the other staff he’s been with too.
The activities and curriculum are age-appropriate and STEAM based. The meals and snacks provided are healthy, too! My son comes home excited to share what they did that day. The staff also updates the app regularly with the days activities, meals, and photos!
I can’t recommend this La Petite location enough. David and his staff are absolutely amazing. The environment they’ve created is fun and safe; and my son is always happy to be there. I can’t wait to watch my son grow even more with them.
