My daughter started LPCEA back in August of 2019 for kindergarten. She is now in 4th grade and still attend the school (which says a lot). I chose this school because we hold the same core values. They teach the children how to be respectful, show pride, compassion, and has a vigorous curriculum for each grade. Each classroom name is base on a college. The children feel real proud to tell you what college they’re in. This also place them on the right path for success from small. One thing I love is Family Fridays were parents can see the cheer competition between the classes, view the classroom and mix and mingle with fellow parents. They offer art, music and dance throughout the year. Last year they added an athletic department, which at the time was only boys and girls basketball, now they added cheerleading this year. Last year the school went under a change in leadership and a lot of teachers left. It was a rough year for my daughter and myself emotionally and physically. With that being said, the highlight of last year and a big win, was the principal starting a parent committee to work side by side with parents to address issues and concerns we have. I will always be apart of the LPCEA community. I have built strong family like relationships with the staff, teachers, school safety and parents.
Proud LPC mom here. I absolutely love this school. My oldest daughter attended Uncommon and is now in her second year of college and doing well. My two youngest are now enrolled at LPC and I could not be happier. Love the curriculum, love the teachers dedication to the students education and growth and most of all making sure as young as Kindergarten they are getting college ready. The classes are named after colleges which serves as a daily reminder of the incredible end goal for each student. I love the daily reminders and positive feedback given to students as it instills confidence and encourages positive growth. Not every parent will have the same experience but that depends and what you’re goals are for your child. For me, a safe, clean and positive learning environment is important and a place where my child can learn and grow and LPC offers that so I love it!!
This school is not what it was when my child started 3 years ago. It seems like they allow any and all kinds of behavior in the name of enrollment (because enrollment means funding). It has become quantity over quality.
Not to mention that 3 weeks of school have gone by and my kids’ teachers have not yet sent out a message or email introducing themselves or talking about what the kids have been learning in school.
Last year the teacher reached out before classes even began. This year it seems that is no longer a practice. My kids constantly complain about misbehavior from their classmates that disrupts learning. What is it that the dean does? Does the dean not have the authority to enforce the code of conduct?
