This review is solely based on our experience with Legacy Academy Snellville location. I recommend any parent who brings their child to this location to think twice maybe three times before sending your child to this facility. Our time at legacy was rough from the beginning. I definitely would NOT recommend. I would deem this an unsafe environment for children and a headache for parents. After looking back my children did not develop any during their time here.
Background: Our first day there my child who is 2 apparently was able to push the doors open to the classroom and run outside to the playground and we were told it was policy they are unable to lock the doors or keep the children from opening the door. We got calls to pick him up and they stated it was for his safety. If you ask me the policy makes it very unsafe. Especially if my 2 year old is able to open the doors. Very unsafe for children.
The cameras were not working properly in the majority of the classrooms and all areas were not visible. We had events to occur with a failure to report the incident and since the cameras were not working the incidents could not be reviewed. We were told staff had no way of finding out what happened because the person there at the time left. Very convenient.
They made up rules as they went. They refused to allow my child into school due to a late drop off time policy that was not in the handbook or stated to us at time of registration. Read the handbook.
Ratio issues!! This facility has very high teacher turn over. If they deem they might be out of ratio they will more than likely call to pick up your child due to a fever…. Beware. Take a thermometer to the school or have them check it in front of you.
Not enough teachers to help in a classroom. We received calls about 2x a week to come get our children from school for something or to come and sooth them due to crying. Is that not what we are paying for? I was told my son was crying from 7:40am-11am and the teacher could not tend to him because she had other students. Where is the help for the teachers? My kids stayed at home more times than we took them to school. The GM is hardly ever available of accessible. The front desk workers maintain frustration during situations or maybe just stressed?
There were no skills/learning my children developed at their time at legacy. No potty training, no washing hands, no learning letters, or colors. Overall the headache was not worth our money. We ended up having to remove our children from the facility after approximately 6 months.
Working here was one of the worst experiences i have ever had working in a daycare. I LOVED my class and everyone that worked on my team. In the beginning it was good but in the end i started to realize how toxic and mentally draining this job was. There was no REAL support from management except from the executive director and the assistant director. There was always an excuse for something and never a real explanation. I was hired to work a specific schedule and once i expressed how uncomfortable i was and how it was affecting my everyday life , they “took me off the schedule” CARELESSLY. This job was so mentally draining that i never want to work in daycare again. Worst experience ever. I have reported it to the Legacy Academy corporate office and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE! there are people there that i saw physically hurt my child and nothing was done about it just excuses i have never received an incident report the whole time of me working there for my child and she had multiple scratches coming home. I WOULD NOT recommend working here or enrolling your children. I will never trust my child coming here ever again. Still to this day no one has contacted me or follow up with me and thats why im writing this review. I hope that things can change because there are GREAT people that work there.
